In the morning before Claire and I are about to head out the door. I took the time to glance over the Syllabus for some of my classes just in time to find out that Alchemy will be held in the Sanctum on non testing days instead of the Alchemy room. Sanctum? What the hell is a sanctum? I'd heard the word before all I knew was that it was some type of holy place that's all I knew about it. Why would the school need a holy place such as a Sanctum?

"Uh...Claire?" I mutter

"Yeah man" she answers

"Where's the Sanctum?" I asked her.

She smiled and giggled a little mischievously.

"What surprised the school has one?" She laughed. "Your face is priceless. And by the left side of the school it resembles a round tower. You'll see it. it's right across from the library on the right side of the school."

I sighed i'd have to ask Aaron to meet me at the Sanctum today. There was no way I could make it to the fencing room right after school. He'd have to come to me. Either way he would be pissed but I feel like waiting for me to walk all the way from the Sanctum to the Fencing room after school with a busted ankle dragging me down would piss him off even more.

Aaron just seems like one of those people who's always pissed off.  I sighed today was going to be a long, long day

"Class," Vivian calls over the commotion of the students on the bleachers. Class has just started. "I'm going to select a handful of students to get suited up for the real showdown today. There will be two pairs of you going against each other and all along the way Kieran and I will be teaching you new techniques"

I gulped down in my seat, Maybe they wouldn't call in me because I have a bad ankle.

"Today's selections are..." Kieran said starting each of us down like we were cutlets of steak and he was deciding which ones looked the best, "Aaron and Ryker. you two will face off. And Britney and Chase you two."

I glanced over at Aaron who was sitting on the other sides of the bleachers further away rom me. He stood abd let out a sigh and stepped down from the bleachers. I didn't realise how muclar he was until now. Watching him was like watching the gates of heaven open. It made me feel better. It was just the way he carried himself. Graceful yet ready to strike at any second. I watched as he walked over to the front of the room opened a cupboard and grabbed white fencing armor off the shelf. As the other's did the same he pulled on the armor right over his clothes then put the helmet on. I could no longer see him but the way he moved still made me shiver.

Aaron and Ryker who had orange eye and blonde hair faced each other on the left side of the room with Vivian standing between them. On the right side of the room were who I assumed were Britney and Chase with Kieran standing between them. Britney had glossy red hair and lime green eyes. I could see faint specks of red within them. Chase had salt and pepper hair even though he was so young. but the black really stuck out in his hair more so than the white. His eyes were garnet colored.

"Aaron and Ryker will go first" Vivan instructed, nodding at both of them, nodding at both of them. Ryker nodded back. Aaron just stayed within his stance holding his foil up as if he could just pounce at any moment and rolling his shoulders.

For a second I swear I could see his eyes through the black glass of the  helmet flit towards me but it must have just been my imagination.

"En Garde etes vous prets?" Vivian asked and Aaron's and Ryker's muscles tightened.

"Allez"

was I the only one in the room who gasped when Aaron moved?

He practically glided forward trying to stick Ryker contered it falling off balance a little while Aaron spun around to meet Ryker's attempting to stick him in the knee with his foil. Aaron's movements were so slick so stealthy so inhumantly beautiful and with every step he took my heart pounded.

Until finally Aaron stuck Ryker in the middle of his chest when Aaron took off his helmet he has a grin of sly triumph on his face. He threw his foil to the ground and slipped out of his armor.Everyone on the bleachers clapped.

"Good job you two! Ryker you just need a little practise. I'm sure you'll get better." Vivian started nodding and smiling.

That was it I'm sure you'll get better? I got a tutor and Ryker got a free pass? What was so great about him? Was I really bad at fencing?

Aaron sat back in his spot on the bleachers. I heard Kieran signal for Britney and Chase start fencing. But everything else in the room was nothing to me now. All I could do was stare at Aaron who leaned his head up against the wall just like he did yesterday. When class finally ended I watched Aaron walk over to the left side of the room to get his backpack. I bit my lip nervously clenched when Class finally ended. I watched Aaron walk over to the left side of the room to get his backpack. I  bit my lip nervously clenched my fists and made my way over to him as much as I didn't want to do this it had to be done and Aaron would be immature for getting all mad about it. It's not my fault I fell on my ankle yesterday and couldn't walk very far. we'd just have to deal with it. I cleared my throat as I stood behind him, then went to go tap him on his shoulder. But before I could he already answered me.

"Yes?"

I froze there my finger inches from his shoulder. When he turned to me. I let my hand fall to my side.

"Uh..." I stumbled over my words. "C-could you meet me at the Sanctum today? My last hour is oer there and my ankle is busted so I can't walk very far."

He rolled his eyes.

"Fine just until your ankle is better though."

I smiled I was about to thank him but before I could finish my sentence he began walking towards the door but by the time everyone was gone and the door was shut I was left there all alone. All I could do was sigh, fold my hands together and look down at the floor in defeat.
