Chapter 29: Saying Goodbye To The Horses

After Matt was finally done with his hair and we said our final goodbyes to my parents we were off to ride some more. About 5 minutes into the ride there Matt asked to put on some music. Long story short Bohemian Rhapsody was on and well...since were both AMAZING singers (note the sarcasm) we ruined the song.

"Wanna know something cool about that song?" Matt asked. I looked over at him and saw him and his adorable embarrassed smile.

"What" I said as I bit my lip to keep from laughing.

"Well Kaz me and Arthur made up this 'band', Karen and the Babes and we had this ritual, type, thing where we sang that like everyday"

"Did you now?" I said with sarcastic amusement. I could tell he was embarrassed.

"Maybe when Karen and Arthur come over we can get the band back together and have a little performance for Savannah and Morgan, if they haven't murdered each other yet." We looked at each other and busted out laughing. I knew I could make him laugh.

"No, no, no" he said in between laughs.

"And whys that?" I asked and wiggled my eyebrows.

"Because, well. Hmmm." He tilted his head trying to think of something. He was so cute.
"Well were here sooooo, you can think of a good reason here since it's where I think the best." I told him.

"I'll get Barney and Storm ready so we can ride. So you just wait here and after we're done I want a REALLY good reason on why you won't sing mister."

Matt stayed in the car twiddling with his hair in deep thought while I grabbed the halters.

I walked back smiling. I couldn't stop smiling for some reason.

"BARNEY!!!!!" I called out as soon as I got to his stall. I loved the sound of all 4 beats hitting the ground as they gallop.

Barney got up to me and I petted his face. I walked in and fastened the halter on face.

I walked out and tied him on the fence while I went to go get Storm.

"STORM WARNING!!!!" I call out.

I put my leg on the fence waiting for Storm to approach.

I slowly opened the gate as Storm walked up to me.

"Hey buddy! How are you? Are you gonna be good today?" I ask while putting the halter around his head.

I walked him out and closed the gate.

I decided to make it a quick trip so I thought I would ride him to the hitching post.

"Down." I said pointing to the ground.

He slowly went down just like a dog.

"Good boy!" I said and got on him.

"Up." I say and he jumped up.

"Ugggg!" I say as I forgot to tie the lead around the other side to make reins.

I got down and tied it up.

"There." I decided to jump on his back to make it quick.

I trotted over to Barney and untied him. I trotted back and sat down as he did his slow up and down trotting. He knew when I rode him bareback to always trot slow and canter slowly as well.

I trotted up to the barn then slowed Storm to a walk.

As I approached Matt I noticed he found the hat room.

"You found the hat room I see!" I say smiling.

"I'm a Stetson now! Stetsons are cool!" He said smiling.

I threw Barney's lead rope at him.

"Go get him ready Stetson!" I say smiling walking over to the hitching post and getting off Storm then tied him up.

After about 2 hours of chasing Matt around on horseback we decided we were done for the day. We then returned Storm and Barney to their stalls.

"So" I said "your reason is..." I prolonged the 's' to emphasize. After I was done with my five minute 'is' he came up really close to me and whispered in my ear

"Because..." He leaned in and our lips connected. We moved in sync. He put his hands on my hips almost totally exterminating the space between us. I placed my hands around his neck, deepening the kiss. His tong licked my bottom lip asking for entrance. When we finally finished exchanging spit he whispered in my ear once again.

"I want you to be my girlfriend Jess"

I could feel an even bigger smile growing on my lips.

"Even though I'm obviously going to say yes, that's not a good enough reason."

He sighed.

"I really thought that the kiss would do it. But I guess for YOU I can pull myself together and put on a show for your weird friends." You can literally see the sarcasm on his face at this point.

"So, I don't mean to ruin the moment but we really need to get going if we're going to get back to the studio in time."

We returned to my car and started our journey back.
