I woke up to someone nudging me in the shoulder.
"Jess, we're here." Matt said.
We ran through the air port as fast as possible. When we got to my house, we didn't knock. We sprinted to the door and opened it. I didn't expect what I saw. Everyone who loved or cared about Storm or me was sitting in my living room, looking at the ground. I knew I was late, and just to confirm, I walked to my mom.
"What time?" I asked. There were already tears escaping my eyes.
"What TIME!?" I asked louder. She didn't answer. She was crying and so was I. By now most of the people were gone.
"About 2 hours ago." Answered my dad. I felt my knees give in. I collapsed right there and cried. I cried till I fell asleep.
I woke up in my bed. I got up and walked down stairs. Matt was making breakfast, I think eggs and bacon, but I didn't care. I just wanted to die, but I at the same time I didn't. It was like a part of me was missing, and something else was already making its way in slowly. But right at that moment I thought about how I'd never brush him, never talk to him, never here him, never ride him, and never ever see him again. I sat and cried again. But this time Matt came over and held me, rocking back and forth.
"Jess, you can't live like this." He said.
"I know it's hard, but you have a life to live. If this is the worst thing that happens then thank god. We lose things close to us, it's part of life. You can't change the past, but only you can choose how to deal with it. This is just a speck of bad luck in the whole journey of life. Now, please stop crying!" He was right. I can't live like this.
"You're right, I have a job to keep up with. I have fans who can't be let down. And in the end, I have you. That's all I need." I said. I got up and ready to go back to Cardiff, after saying by to everyone. I needed to live my life in a way that showed that I was stronger than pain.
"Wake up." I nudged Matt off my shoulder. He woke up and we left for the cab. Matt and I rode in silence, but it was a good type of silence. When we got back to set, Matt figured I needed some alone time, so he let me go to my trailer.
I walked in greeted by a small puppy. I was kinda scared at first. It was a little teacup Yorkie. I ran to Steven to ask what a dog was doing in my trailer.
"It's for you." He said. "I thought you would like something to keep you company."
"Thank you." I said. I walked to Matt's trailer and told him about the dog.
"What should I name her?" I was thinking of names that would reflect what I liked.
"How about Clara."
"Why Clara?"
"It's a nice name, and she looks like a Clara."
"Ok, Clara it is!" I guess it's Clara the puppy and Jess the actress against the world.
