|AIRPLANE|
"You're seated in 13A. Please enjoy your flight."
You nodded and walked towards the back of the plane to find your seat. Thankfully it was the window seat.
"13C. . . 13A must be-"
You turned to your left and saw a man seated next to the aisle.
"Hi, uh, I'm right there." You pointed to the spot next to him.
The man smiled. "Sure."
He stood and you slipped past him to take your seat.
"My names Takashi Shirogane. Figured I should introduce myself if we're gonna be stuck next to each other for the next six hours."
You shook Takashi's outstretched hand. "I'm (Y/N) (L/N), it's nice to meet you, Takashi."
"Just call me Shiro."
You smiled at the new stranger. He seemed kind and was the probably the best person you could be seated beside for your first flight ever.
The stewardess made her way down the aisle, telling passengers to take out their headphones and buckle their seatbelts before lift off. With shaky hands, you latched your belt around your waist and gripped the armrests tightly.
"You nervous?" Shiro asked.
You nodded.
"Fear of heights or first time flier?"
"First time."
Shiro tightened his belt and leaned on the armrest that separated the two of you. "That's fine, lift off and landing are probably the scariest parts. once we're in the sky it won't be so bad, if you're not afraid of heights that is."
You giggled as the engine began to roar and the plane began to roll out onto the track.
Shiro reached over and shut the visor on the window so you couldn't see outside. "So tell me, why did you decide to step on a plane for the first time to go to Arizona?"
"My brother moved there to be with his boyfriend a little under six months ago and I'm visiting for his birthday. What about you? Why're you travelling all the way to Phoenix from New York?"
"It's the complete opposite for me I guess. I grew up in Phoenix and moved to New York when I was sixteen to live with my grandma when my parents passed away. My adopted brother still lives there so I visit all the time."
You were at a loss for words. "Wow, that really is completely opposite. I'm sorry about your parents."
Shiro smiled and opened the visor on the window to show a field of fluffy, white clouds outside. "No reason to be sorry. It was a long time ago, and besides, we're in the air now."
You were amazed at how beautiful the scenery was. Clouds stretched across the sky like white blankets, and when they seperated you could see giant lakes that seemed so small and cities of lights underneath.
"It's amazing!"
Shiro laughed and the stewardess came down the aisle with a drink cart. "Can I offer you a beverage?"
Excitement bubbled in your stomach. "They offer drinks?" You whispered to Shiro.
He nodded. "And on longer flights like this one, they even offer food."
[AN: (F/D) means "favourite drink"]
The stewardess waited patiently for you and Shiro to decide on what you wanted to drink, and when you both finally chose (F/D), she made her way further down the line.
"I should travel more often. It's not like I don't have the money to, I work in New York for god sake, but I just never felt the need to." You said in all honesty.
Shiro sipped from his little plastic cup. "I travel all the time. I've been across seas and back and forth across the country. It's amazing, I think everyone should do it."
For the next three hours the two of you talked like that. Talking about anything and everything from your favourite animals and things you wished to do, to your families and life back in New York. Then you decided to sleep.
"Is it all right if I take a nap?"
Shiro smiled. "Of course. I'll make sure no one steals your fanny pack."
You glared at the man next to you. He was making fun of your small carry-on bag.
Pulling your legs up against your chest, you closed the visor on the window and let your body drift to sleep.

You woke up with a jolt and looked around you.
A leather jacket was laid over your body, and your head was resting against a very muscular shoulder.
"Morning sunshine." Someone said, a deep chuckle vibrating through their body.
You looked up and met Shiro's gaze. "How long was I out?"
"A couple hours. We just landed."
You sat bolt upright and pulled the window visor up to see the runway whizzing past the window.
"I was asleep for three hours! I'm so sorry!"
Shiro laughed. "Don't be sorry, I read for awhile when you first fell asleep then i covered up with my jacket and passed out. I only woke up when you stole my jacket."
Your face heated, mortified. You didn't know this guy almost at all! -and yet your sleepy self stole his jacket.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at our destination. We ask that you please keep your seatbelts on until the craft has come to a complete stop, and without further ado, welcome to Phoenix."
Shiro unbuckled his belt and you stared at him openly. "She said to keep our seat belts on."
He laughed. "The plane is on the ground, (Y/N). If something bad happens now, the seat belt probably won't do me any good."
You watched as he gathered his things. You decided to play it safe and keep the belt on.
The plane came to a stop and everyone finally lined up and walked towards the airport. You and Shiro walked together until you were inside the doors.
"I guess this means goodbye." You said, and you couldn't help but be a little sad.
"What're you talking about? We both live in New York, it's not like we're living on opposite sides of the earth."
You laughed. He was right.
"(Y/N)!"
"Shiro!"
"Lance, Keith!" You and Shiro both shouted in unison, and looked at one another in confusion.
"How do you know my brother?" You asked.
"How do you know mine?"
Lance and Keith stood in front of you, smiles spread wide across their faces.
"Welcome to Phoenix! (Y/N), this is Keith's adoptive brother, Shiro." Your brother explained.
"I gathered that much."
"Shiro, that's (Y/N), Lance's older sister." Keith explained.
Shiro smiled at you. "I guess we'll be seeing more of each other than we thought."
