Back In Town

Roman's POV

I didn't let go of Virgil's hand as we walked back to town together. When we left yesterday we did the best we could to cover as much ground as we could to find Virgil. We stayed out till midnight trying to find him. And this morning we got up at about dawn to find Virgil again.

And now he's back. With me. And me and him are gonna talk. Hope he doesn't get mad at me or anything. We all walked into town together. Virgil said he had to do something for his friend and I told him I'll meet him at the house. I walked to the house and waited on the couch. He came back a few minutes later.

"Hey Roman. You ok?"

"Yeah. Of course. Your back. I remember the last time I felt like this. Never felt better than right now."

"I-im sorry."

"For what?"

"For saying we should have distance and free time from each other. I just felt like since we're getting married, I need some to myself. All that just lead to me being taken again and not defending for myself."

"That's not how I see you. I see you as someone who's more stronger, more confident and more lovable than before. Your not the same person you were when we met. You were very very shy and anxious. Only liked talking to Patton and being alone. But that's not you anymore. Sure you get anxious under pressure and can't be around other people you don't know very well yet, but your getting there. I'm here for you, so is Patton and Logan. And this is actually what I wanted to talk about with you. And I want to start spending all my free time I have with you. Like old times. I just hope you feel the same way. And if you do, I'll give you some space just to yourself if you ask. I'll do anything for you just so that your happy."

"I do want things to go back to the way they were. I truly appreciate you being there for me ever since we met. But I never want to be away from you. You're the only person I never get nervous around. Even sometimes I'm afraid of what Patton and Logan might think of me. It's nice to know that I'll never feel that way when I'm around you isn't?"

"Yeah. And try not to be afraid of Patton and Logan. They're your family too. Especially Patton. You should of seen the way he acted when I told him you were missing again. He kept calling you his "son" or something like that."

"He did?! Oh. He does that. I get a little bit irritated about him calling me that but I also get a laugh out of it. I do kinda see Patton as a father figure. And not just to me. But your right. Patton and Logan are family."

"They are. They care about you. I just care about you more."

"I-I love you Roman."

"I love you too...Anx"

We hugged and then we kissed. Probably one of the most heartfelt kiss ever.

"Oh. Speaking of the name Anx..uh... Will you get mad at me if I tell you something and show you?"

"No of course not. You can tell me anything and I promise I won't get mad."

"Ok. Follow me."

He got up and I followed. We went to his bedroom door and stopped.

"You won't get mad or anything."

"Nope. Never."

"Ok then."

He opened his door and we stepped him. He opened the curtains and I saw something on his bed. He sat on the bed and whatever was in the bed before crawled up to his shoulder. I was actually confused.

"No offense. But what is that?"

"It's a little black kitten. For a few months he always came up to my window. One day he came into my room and laid on my bed. So that's when I decided to keep him as my own."

"Oh.."

"Im sorry I didn't tell you. I was afraid. But Shadow harmless."

"Shadow?"

"That's his name I gave him. Well actually his name is both Shadow and Anx."

"Well....he really adorable. Much like you."

"So your ok if we keep him?"

"Yeah. I've always wanted to have a pet. Since I was little actually. Never got one. And it's cute on how he's kinda named after you. I'm the one who gave you that nickname Anx."

"So I have you to thank. Thank you so much for letting us keep him. He's get a so scared when I'm not here."

"Like I said. Everything to make you happy."

"Im always happy when I'm with you."

We smiled at each other. I pulled him into another kiss. I've never been happier than I am right now with Virgil. Ever!
