After the images had faded away into nothing and the clouds of smoke dissipated, Anakin was left on his knees sobbing for the pain that he would bring forth in the future. Then the Son approached him, but said nothing. "I will do such terrible things. Rey was right about what I become. And in the end, she was telling the truth," Anakin sobbed. "Yes. It is all true. Rey knew what you would grow to become. So she contacted me from the future and asked for me to help her get back to the past so she could divert you from your path," the Son explained. "But why would she pretend that she didn't know how she got here, or why wouldn't she tell me everything that I would do in the future?" Anakin asked now standing.
The Son took a breath and sighed, "She wanted to see if by proving that you are the Chosen One that maybe you'd understand that all I wanted to do was help you avoid your fate. However, as a Plan "B", she wanted me to show you everything that you would do in hopes of getting you to see that I'm not the villain and that she wasn't lying about all this." Anakin's eyes cried again at hearing all that Rey had went through just to protect him. "She only wanted to protect you because--" the Son was cut off by Anakin finishing his sentence with, "she loved me."
"You know, your future doesn't have to be that way. The choice is still yours to make," the Son reassures. "How?" Anakin questioned. "The future, by its nature, can be changed. That's why Rey came back to the past. Join us, and together we will destroy this Emperor you see in your visions. Then we shall end war, corruption, and suffering throughout the galaxy," the Son beckoned. "Will we bring peace?" Anakin asked. "Of course," the Son said. "Where is Rey? I want to see her and tell how sorry I am for not believing her," Anakin said. "Oh, well, she is making sure we have a ship to depart this world," the Son sighed. He then handed Anakin his lightsaber and they began to talk about how they will destroy the Emperor.
Meanwhile, Ahsoka was fixing the ship's radio communications. "Finally! This is Jedi Shuttle 634 calling on all secure channels for help. Do you read? I repeat--we are stranded and need immediate evac. Come in, please!" Ahsoka pleaded. When nothing but static came through she lowered her head in defeat. Then she heard a gasp behind her. She whirled around and ignited her lightsabers. She looked down and saw Rey on the ground. She quickly deactivated her lightsabers and helped Rey up.
"Rey, are you okay? Wait. Are you really you?" Ahsoka asked. Rey stopped gasping long enough to breathe out the words, "I'm fine. And yes, it's me. Where's Anakin and Obi-Wan?" Ahsoka arched an eyebrow, "Anakin went to face off the Son and rescue you, but I thought you knew where Anakin was." "I did-I do, but I didn't actually see Anakin because the Son teleported me to his castle. Uh-oh. The Son told me that the only way for me to be free of the dark side is for someone else to take my place," Rey explained. Ahsoka looked at her in disbelief, "Please. Anakin would never turn to the dark side or join the Son. It's ridiculous!" Rey arched her eyebrow slightly. "Tell me, Ahsoka, did your future self visit you in a dream telling you that you would never see your future if you remain his student?"
Ahsoka paled (if that's even possible) at what Rey said. "Y-Yes, but that was a lie, right?" Ahsoka asked worriedly. Rey shook her head. Ahsoka gasped, "Obi-Wan went to rescue Anakin." Rey's eyes widened. "Then, we'd better get there quick, because he's the one that's going to need rescuing!"
Meanwhile, Obi-Wan finally arrived at the Well of the Dark Side. He landed on the same island that Anakin had, but saw no sign of him. He looked around and saw only his speeder. He turned around and saw Anakin walking up to him. "Anakin, are you all right?" Obi-Wan asked. Suddenly he noticed Anakin's eyes. They were deathly shade of yellow. "There has been a change of plan," Anakin said. He then used the Force to push one of the speeders into the lava. "Sorry," he said sadistically. Obi-Wan looked at him in horror. "What's going on?" Obi-Wan asked. "You will not understand what I will have to do to end the Clone War. You will try to stop me," Anakin almost snarled.
