Poe, Finn, and Rose were sitting in the empty war room still recovering from what Leia told them two weeks ago. "I can't believe she wants us to actually find the leader of the First Order. It's official. She's lost her mind!" Finn exhaled. "General Organa isn't crazy. She is as sharp as they come. She's anything but senile," Poe breathed. "But she's telling us to find her deranged son. She's basically telling us to surrender to the First Order," Rose sided with Finn.
"If she thinks that Kylo can help, it is because he knows something that we don't," Poe reasoned. Finn and Rose remained silent. That silence was broken when two soldiers walked into the door. Rose, Finn, and Poe stood abruptly. "What is it?" Poe asked. "What's happening?" Rose said. The soldiers looked to each then back at Poe. It wasn't until then that Poe realized they had been crying.
Poe walked closer to them with worry written on his face. "What... The... Hell... Is Happening?" he almost shouted. The two soldiers sighed before one of them said, "It's the General, Commander. She's... She's gone." Poe felt his heart shatter into a thousand pieces. Rose began to cry and Finn rushed to comfort her.
"No. She can't be," Poe's voice wavered. "I'm sorry, sir, but she's dead. Before she died, she said to tell you that you were the new General of the Resistance. Finn is to be the new commander and Rose is now the chief engineer," the other soldier said. Poe gasped as he scrambled to sit in the nearest chair. "What are we going to do, sir?" the first soldier asked. "Have her wounds cleaned and have her dressed in one of her gowns. Tell the pilots and high-ranked soldiers to find something formal to wear and that we head to Ahch-To at first light. Everyone else stays behind to look after the base," Poe said decisively. "Yes, sir!" the soldiers said in unison as they saluted the new General. With that, they left Poe, Finn, and Rose and told the rest of the base the news.
"I can't believe she's gone," Rose sniffled. "Neither can I, Rose," Finn sighed. "Well, now I feel like we need to find Kylo. Not only do we owe it to Rey, but we owe it to Leia now. She died believing in us. She died believing in Rey. She died still believing that there was good in Kylo Ren. We owe it to her to at least try," Poe said.
Suddenly, a draft of air swirled in the room. The three of them ducked for cover, as it swirled faster and faster and faster throwing chairs across the room. It finally stopped just as fast as it began. They stood up and dusted themselves off. "What was that?" Rose asked. "I don't know," Finn said. "I know what it was," a voice said from in the far corner of the room. "Who said that?" Poe asked whirling around to see... Luke Skywalker?!
