Captured! Returning from a perilous in the Outer Rim, General Even Piell's cruiser has fallen under attack and been boarded. Seeking vital information about secret hyperspace lanes called the Nexus Route. Separatist forces have taken him alive. Now the Jedi are preparing a stealth mission into the heart of Separatist space in an effort to rescue Master Piell from the deadly prison known as the citadel.
Plo Koon, Obi-Wan, Rey, Commander Cody, and Anakin stood around a holographic table in the war room discussing how to best execute the rescue mission. "As you are aware, the citadel is there most isolated and impenetrable detention facility. No one escapes," Plo Koon explained. "There's a first time for everything," Anakin let slip. "Indeed there is," Obi-Wan agreed with his former apprentice. "Their security has prevented our probes from obtaining recent reconnaissance, so we've been forced to construct a map based upon data from the archives," Plo Koon stated. "And since the data is extremely old, the map will be difficult to rely on," Obi-Wan added. "So we're essentially going in blind," Anakin said. "That's putting it bluntly, I guess," Rey sighed. "Beg your pardon, General, but how do we know that Master Piell is still alive?" a clone trooper asked. "The Separatists won't dare kill Master Piell until they have what they need," Obi-Wan answered.
"My master is right. So long as he has something they need, they will keep him breathing, battered and bruised, but breathing nonetheless," Rey pitched in. "He obtained the coordinates of a secret hyperspace lane known as the Nexus Route, which travels into the heart of both the Republic and Separatist homeworlds," Plo Koon said. "They could prove vital in maneuvering our forces deep into remote Separatist sectors," Obi-Wan informed. "Or the enemy could use them to slip through our defenses and attack Coruscant," Anakin exhaled. "Either way, it's a lose-lose situation for on team or the other," Rey continued. "These hyperspace lanes are of immense interest to both our sides and could tip the scale of the war to whomever is in possession of them. That is all," Plo Koon concluded. With that, everyone started to make their way out of the war room.
As Anakin, Rey, Obi-Wan, and Plo exited the war room, Master Plo said, "Based on the archive schematics, we've narrowed it down to three possible locations they could be holding him at." "My greatest concern is infiltrating their outer security. The life-form scanners won't be easy to fool, " Obi-Wan said. "I've got a thought about that," Anakin suggested. "Let me guess, carbonite freeze?" Rey said rolling bet eyes. "Yes, actually," Anakin confessed. "Well, my two concerns are why I was picked for this mission and when are you going to tell Ahsoka that she isn't coming with us," Rey said pointedly to both Anakin and Obi-Wan.
"Master," they heard Ahsoka call from behind them down the hall. Anakin sighed loudly. Rey smirked and said, "Speak of the devil." Obi-Wan stifled a laugh and Plo Koon chuckled softly. Anakin, however, just glared at Rey and growled, "I'll show you the devil!" Rey pouted and bat her eyelashes. "Aww, promises, promises."
"Master. I'm sorry I am late. I just heard about the briefing. We're going to rescue Master Piell, right?" Ahsoka said finally catching up to the others. Anakin stopped moving as Rey, Obi-Wan, and Plo Koon moved in front of them. "You two have much to discuss," Plo sighed. Obi-Wan nodded pointedly to Anakin, while Rey simply smirked. It wasn't long before Obi-Wan, Rey, and Plo Koon were out of earshot and down the hallway. "Ahsoka, I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. But you won't be coming along on this one," Anakin exhaled. "Not coming? But your breaking into the citadel. No one's ever done it," Ahsoka challenged. "The citadel wasn't designed to hold common criminals. It was created to hold Jedi if any of us lost our way. It's not a place for Padawans," Anakin countered.
"Oh, but Obi-Wan's new Padawan can go with him to a place not meant for Padawans? You're just being protective again. That's not fair. How am I supposed to learn if you won't let me share the risk?" Ahsoka complained. "This isn't a mission for learning. You either do or die. And that's not a risk I'm willing to share," Anakin decided.
