Long story short, a lot of terrible things continued to happen to Xav and his family, almost preventing him from being able to attend the contest. Luckily, Amalia gained enough power to grow his wheat field back and restore the amount of wheat they needed to compete in the competition. After a while of tragedy, Yugo decided to enter the game with Xav and compete on his side. After what felt like hours of anticipation waiting for the bread to be complete and the judges to announce the winner they finally told us it was Xav. We all cheered excited for him.
After that we continued our journey. Aster and Astred decided to tag along as well, everyone thought Astred was cute because of her adorable shyness, and they thought Aster was cool and sometimes funny because of all the stupid puns and jokes he made as we continued on our way. I thought he was funny too, but Eva and Amalia were getting annoyed. At least he gave Dally a good laugh though!
"Oma Island..." Astred said quietly as she looked at Aster with a small smile.
"Yup!" He cheered and gave her a big smile, "we're finally going to an adventure of our own!"
"It's kinda scary..."
"Aw come on Astred!" Aster placed his hand on her head and rubbed a little like a playful older brother, "I won't let anything hurt you! I promise!"
"Must be nice to have a family." I thought to myself out loud by mistake.
"You don't have a family?" Yugo asked and he looked at me with sad eyes.
"N-no! I do..." I felt nervous because I didn't mean to say that out loud, "I just never knew them..." I was hoping he would drop the conversation.
"Why not?" Aster questioned as he turned his focus more towards me, I noticed everyone was looking at me now.
"I'm not sure." I said a little coldly. "Maybe they didn't want me, but I'm looking for them now, so my questions will be answered." I had only hoped that last part was true, but deep down inside I had this bitter feeling that they didn't want me, just like everyone else. Everyone is so rude where I lived, all because I'm different. Not only can I teleport like an Eliatrope, but I can also manipulate time to a certain extent. I don't know why I have this power though, because I am an Eliatrope, so it doesn't make any sense.
"I'm sure your parents were just trying to protect you!" Yugo said kindly with a smile that faded a little as he looked down sadly, "I never knew mine either."
I sighed and then heard Aster laughing a little, "must just be an Eliatrope thing!" He said with a smile, but if you looked in his eyes, you could tell he was actually sad.
"Don't you think that was a little harsh Aster?" Astred asked really quietly as she gave him a little glare, but it looked adorable because I had never seen her mad before.
"Y-yeah... you're right." Aster said and rubbed the back of his head embarrassed. "Sorry." He's such a pushover when it comes to his sister!
"It's fine." I said, "although, you might want to be more careful in the future. You might hurt someone's feelings..." my voice was slightly lower than normal as I looked at him.
"Yeah. I know." He said, "I'm really sorry, I was just trying to enlighten the mood a little."
"I know. It's fine." I told him sounding a little cold, "don't do it again."
I noticed Dally's eyes widen along with everyone elses as Grovy looked at me, "Kaido... are you okay there? The kid was just trying to make a joke!" He said rubbing the back of his neck.
"I-I was not trying to-" I cut myself off and shook my head, "I don't know what got into me..."
"Aw it's okay Kaido!" Amaila said as she placed a hand gently on my shoulder, "he just hit a soft spot." I noticed her focus go from a friendly smile at me to a glare of anger directed toward Aster. "He needs ti learn when not to speak!"
He looked at her and then looked away, "the kid already feels bad enough Amalia, let's give him the benifit of the doubt." I said with a kind smile at Aster. He gave me a faint smile back but didn't say anything.
"Fine." Amalia said still glaring at the poor Eniripsa, "but if he makes one more mistake he leaves!"
I noticed his eyes widen at her comment before he looked down. "Please don't do that!" Astred begged quietly, "we need someone to hang out with for a while... and I have this bad feeling that something terrible will happen if we leave!"
I instantly spaced out right after she said those words.
Help! Help me please! I could only hear the words as if they were a distant echo, like they had happened in the past and I was having some sort of memory. Help me! They're going to get-!
The words stopped coming right after that and I snapped back into reality with a jolt.
"Are you okay miss?" Astred asked quietly as she looked at me with worried eyes. I glanced around and realized I had fallen behind, only Astred stayed behind with me.
"Yeah..." I said quietly, looking around a little to see if I could find where the voice would have been coming from.
"D-did you get injoured? I can heal you if you need." She offered kindly, but I just shook my head and gently grabbed the girls' hand.
"Let's go catch up to the others." I told her and gave her the best fake smile I could force to cross my lips.
"If that is what you wish... but you don't have to face your problems alone." Astred responded kindly as she gave me a small smile and gently held my hand. I was beginning to think of her as a little sister. She made me feel comfortable, but at the same I didn't want to get too attached just incase something were to happen. So we both walked hand in hand like close siblings until we cought up with the others.
