The Beginning of Something Really Terrible

Depression can easily swallow somebody whole. It can and will change them. Are you really prepared for what lies ahead of you?

Huh? Oh great, now I have a strange voice in my head. Maybe I'm going insane...

After a few seconds, Eva managed to get Dally to walk through the portal and then explained that it was like a force field that makes the island look as if it's not there. I wonder why... Maybe they're trying to cover up some secrets.

The others began to call out for Ruel and Yugo while I stood there trying to figure out what that strange male voice in my head was trying to tell me. It was at that very moment I had a terrible feeling. Like I felt something bad happen, but I didn't know exactly what it was. My eyes slightly widened with fear as the sensation made me feel as if I had to vomit.

My palms became sweaty and clammy as internally I began to freak out. "Guys... I..." I spoke quietly and softly, but they didn't seem to hear me as they were talking to Ruel, whom they found in a barrel apparently. Come on Kaido! Shake it off! Stop being the coward you always were and just tell them!

"Guys!" I yelled running to them, "I have a terrible feeling!" I cried.

"Like what?" Eva questioned as they all looked over at me.

"L-like..." I began to feel tears form in my eyes, "Like one of us is... No more..." I managed to say, "Like someone-"

Eva placed a finger on my mouth, "You've been having to many nightmares recently, Kaido." She said, "I'm sure Yugo and the twins are perfectly safe. We just need to find them, though I am a little nervous myself..."

Her words lit a fire in my heart, which made me feel about twenty percent stronger. "Yeah, you're probably right." I said and forced a smile at the Cra. (*cough*FinalFantasyXVreference*cough*Cleomedon'tkillVio*cough*)

She gave me a gentle smile back, "Come on, let's go find Yugo." She said as I nodded and followed her lead. For as mean as she is, she can really be nice sometimes.

We all began to call out Yugo's name as we searched in different sections of the beach for the young Eliatrope.

"He couldn't have gone very far..." Amalia said in her royal accent as she looked towards the lushes green woods.

"yeah, and what about Aster and Astred?" I asked, feeling worried again. Something felt... Off. Just then I heard Amalia scream, causing me to quickly run to her in time to see the bushes shake. "This could either be good, or bad." I said in a flat tone.

The grunting of Eva running toward us could be heard as she slid on the sand, causing a small dust could to form before she yelled at us, "Get back!" We both quickly ran behind her as she had her bow aimed with a light arrow toward the bushes. It felt like an eternity while waiting for something to happen. There was a strange noise that we could hear that sounded like it came from the woods as we all watched.

"Doesn't that sound remind you of something?" Eva asked.

"Yeah, Ruel's stomach when he's hungry!" Dally replied in his Iop-like tone of voice of overall dorkiness. (Shut up, it's a word in my dictionary!)

"Wait, it sounds like the sea monster that attacked us!" Amalia said with a shaky voice, followed by a very loud scream that was higher than Princess Peach's voice from Mario. If you weren't dead inside before that scream, you sure were now.

"Well whatever it is, it isn't a Crollup. (?)" Dally explained.

"Oh yeah? Why not?" Eva asked, seemingly irritated with the boy.

"Because Crollup's live in the water and this is on land! That sound might be the same, but it doesn't mean the creature has to be exactly the same animal that attacked us on the boat!" When did he get so smart? Please don't tell me he's like Shulk and Fiora from Xenblade Abridged by James Network!! (Not sponsored. Every time is reference time...)

"Whatever it is, we should brace ourselves." I said flatly looking towards the lushes thick woods in front of us. Everything about this just seemed so negative to me. Then the black tentacles appeared right in front of the woods as Eva held her bow out again. "Get ready!" I said.

Before we even knew what happened, one of the four had grabbed Dally. Luckily Amalia was on top of it as she threw her doll towards them and it shot out some sort of seeds as Eva shot the monster with an ice arrow. I, on the other hand, made a portal and began to throw rocks through it before creating one on the other side of the creature, which caused it to get hit from behind. Wow, I think that's the coolest thing I've done all story. (Oops, broke that pesky wall again.)

"You mean all of that did no damage?!" I asked as I jumped out of the way of an attack. Amalia screamed and used some sort of vine shield that encased her whole body. Eva continued to shoot at it with different arrows.

"Ruel!" Eva yelled, "Free Percedal!"

I looked over at Ruel who was chopping up the tentacles with his shovel, just in time to see him get grabbed by one himself. What are we going to do?!
