A sibling love, it's been a while since I wrote one. I do just want to mention that any oneshot with the word 'and', instead of 'x', is family or friend love. And 'x' is romantic love. So yeah..

Melissa's pov
Dad stood in the kitchen 'cooking' us a meal. I could already smell the charcoaled 'food' from here. He insisted on cooking us a "hearty meal!" Before he left with our mother on their honeymoon. The fire alarm had gone of 5 times since he started cooking three hours ago.... I was sitting on the couch scrolling through social media. My black eyed brother sat beside my curled up frame, on the opposite side of the couch, flicking through television channels. "Dinner is done!" Dad called to us as he walked upstairs to collect his bag. Aaron and I looked at each other.  Almost like we were pleading each other to not eat Dad's 'cooking'. Our father walked down the stairs with his bag, he pet our heads and left to outside with a quick "see ya later!". Our mother walked down with her bag soon after. She ushered us into the kitchen to collect our dinners. We get up from our spots. She kisses my forehead followed by Aaron's. She tells us to be good leaving out the door.

The black haired female strolled into the kitchen dreading the food that awaited her there or what use to be food. Her younger brother practically on her heals as he follows. Both sit at the dining room table seeing plates of extremely over cooked food sat out for them. The sister of the two looked over to her brother seeing his blank expression turned towards the food. His hands in his lap. Melisssa blocks her nose for a few moments trying to rid of the Smokey smell. The sounds of a car pulling out of the driveway filled there ears. Again the siblings share a look, this time the expression filled with glee. The older female stands abruptly; the chair scraped annoyingly against the tiled floor. Picking up the plate in front of her brother with her left hand and grabbing her's with her right. She walks over to the trash can dumping the 'dinner' inside; plates and all. Melissa turns around dusting her hand together with a smirk of 'well done'. She glances at her brother as she placing her hands on her hips. The young male was rummaging through the pantry. The Golden eyed female strolled up to her brother; tapping his bare shoulder. He turns to look at her. They shared another look this time is being the simple question of 'what is there to eat?'. The pantry, the fridge and any other holder of food was fill with various ingredients of meals from cookbooks to come. Yet nothing caught the siblings attention. After a moment of contemplation, she grabs her brother forearm, she drags him towards the lounge room. They sit back down on the couch. "Pizza?" Melissa questions her little brother while dialling the phone. The warm take away dish sounded beyond nice at this moment. "Pizza" Aaron agreed by replying it back to her. After a small wait for the food the sibling finally got to eat. Munching away on the unhealthy treat while bickering about what channel to watch.

Aaron's pov
We gave up on watching television all together. I took another bite of my slice of pizza thinking about things I could do. Maybe shu is up for playing a game?. The couch shifted. I saw Melissa walk away with the slice she was eating. She didn't say anything but she didn't take more pizza with her so I assumed she would be back. Just as I reached for another piece of food; my sister returns licking her fingers rid of the tomato sauce. A small blue cardboard box held tight i her right hand. She tosses the box at me before she kneels down; resting her elbows on the coffee table. Turning the box over in my hand I finally see 5 bold letters. Cards. We play multiple card games for hours on end. Snap, go fish, cheater, we even played 52 pickup.

The click of the front door being open echoed though the silent house. A few whispered words could be heard from the lounge room. The parents of this household wondered into the house dragging their bags with them. Derik strolled over to his kids after dropping their bags near the door. Small greetings were shared between the four of them. The teens quickly returning to the card game at hand.

"So did you two enjoy the dinner I made you?" The father and business owner asked his kids with a proud smirk on his face. Aaron and Melissa share a look, distracted from their card game, with a very similar idea.. ok the exact same idea. "It was great!" The older child fake cheers for her father cooking. "Yeah. It was really good" her brother quickly agrees to the lie. The father seemed over-proud as he lwalks away with a massive smile as his face. The siblings lock eyes once their parents left the room. A look that spoke many words. A look that was a small conversation. 'Let's leave the cooking to us'
