I got out of my car and took off my sun glasses, locking up the car and walking into my house with a smile while holding my purse.

"Hello, Miss Frost" George, our Butler greeted with a smile.

As I stepped through the tall doors, I flashed George a warm smile. "Hello, George. You look stunning," I said, teasing him about his everyday outfit. The enticing aromas of various foods wafted through the air, making me smile even more.

I was reluctant to leave the hospital, wanting to wait until Dylan's discharge. But Mom's urgent call had summoned me home. Parents could be so demanding.

As I approached the stairs, my brother Nixon descended, looking dapper in his blue suit-pants and crisp white shirt with the top button undone. He always knew how to dress to impress.

"Someone's looking nice," I said with a smirk, eyeing his outfit. "Got a date?"

Nixon, four years my senior, had just turned twenty-one two months ago. I, on the other hand, was counting down the days until my eighteenth birthday. Our parents often joked that Nixon was the golden child, while I was, well, not so much. As a Harvard student studying business administration – courtesy of Dad's influence – Nixon was only home for a brief two-week break.

"Hey, you," he said with a warm smile, opening his arms for a hug. "No date, just heading to the office with Dad."

As we hugged, I noticed a new scent wafting from him. It wasn't bad, just different. "You've changed your perfume," I observed, raising an eyebrow.

Nixon smirked. "This one's much better. It's imported from England."

My curiosity got the better of me. "How much did it set you back?"

"Not much. Just eight hundred bucks extra, that's plus the price of the last perfume" he furrowed his brows as he answered, a smile fixed on his face.

I arched a brow at him. "Your last perfume was over a thousand dollars." I stated "....plus eight hundred bucks." I quivered my lip for a second. "So you're trying to tell me that you spent two thousand dollars. On a perfume?"

"Don't even think about judging me," Nixon shot back, "You spent two thousand on those stupid shoes you got shipped from Asia."

I huffed. "First of all, they're silver stilettos and they're classic and super gorgeous. Two, they were still new, so I had to buy them that same week. And three, they cost one thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine cents. It wasn't up to two thousand."

I folded my arms, satisfied with my defense.

Nixon huffed, "Mmhmm. Right."

People often mistook us for twins due to our banter and similar mannerisms. However, a closer look revealed the age difference. Nixon was not only my brother but also my partner in crime – and the best one at that. He was perfect in every way.

He was my own savior.

I rolled my eyes at Nixon. "Whatever. Where's Mom? She called me, saying it's urgent."

As I walked into the living room, Nixon whispered, "Oh, you're in big trouble."

I frowned. "What for?"
