I was in the sala that moment, when Jethro is in the kitchen helping Mary Jane. Grandma was out to buy some vegetables at the market. They were so noisy, laughing at each other thats why I can't concentrate in what I was watching. I looked at them.
"Hahaha! Hindi ganyan." Mary Jane took the knife from Jethro and started slicing.
"Woah. You're a pro!" Jethro gave a big smile.
Then I interrupted.
"Having a good time huh?" Habang nakasandal ako sa dingding ng pintuan ng kusina.
"Oh Keith, nandyan ka pala." Habang nakatalikod at naghihiwa. "Kanina kapa?"
"No, ang ingay nyo kase hindi tuloy ako makapagfocus sa TV." I said then I sat in a chair, leaning my arms on the table near them.
"Sorry tol. Were really having a good time. You're cousin is actually quite impressive in doing household chores." Then chewed a small piece of pipino.
"Ow.. Really? Magaling ang nagturo eh." I grinned. I saw Mary Jane paused, turned her back then looked at me. "Diba, couz?"
Tumawa sya then rolled her eyes, continuing her chopping. Then I just saw Jethro doing a silly gesture that I can't understand, whispering something while doing it.
"Ha?" Tapos tinaas ko ang kilay ko. Lumapit sya saken at may binulong.
"I LIKE HER.."
Then Jethro punched my shoulder start laughing silently para hindi marinig ni Mary Jane. Matipid akong ngumiti. He likes Mary Jane? I stared at her. I can't deny that she has looks and a charming smile that can caught ones heart pero bakit parang ayoko. Ayokong magkatuluyan sila. Maybe because she's a commoner. She do not fit for our kin. Mahirap sya at walang natapos. She's a disgrace kung sila magkakatuluyan thats why I don't like her for Jethro. End of it.
Hapon na at lumabas kami ni Jethro papunta sa isang restaurant. After we ate, we chitchat long hanggang sa napunta ang topic sa kanya.
"Then, tell me. Anung nagustuhan mo kay Mary Jane?"
"Mary Jane?" While he handed a glass of water in the table. "After being with her in a couple of days, I noticed her smile, attitude and beauty. Tsaka yung pakiramdam na, you're comfortable with that person. Sya yun eh. Crush lang naman tol and I'm at the estate of observing her pa."
"So you're serious about her?" That question just spit out of me na hindi ko alam. Hindi ko maintindihan rin kung bakit ko yun nasabi. I can see to Jethro's face that he's quite surprised.
"Tol, observing pa ko." He said na natatawa pa konte. "Over protective ka naman ata sa cousin mo?"
Pati ako nagtaka. "Haha, she's my cousin eh." Then I rushed into the Mens Comfort Room. I hurriedly washed my face. After that, tinitigan ko mukha ko sa salamin, "Keith, have you lost your mind? Would you back on your track? Ugghh.."
We got home exactly 9 o'clock. We saw Mary Jane sitting infront of the house waiting for us. Tumayo sya nung nakita nyang may sasakyan na parating. Then I parked my car at the garage.
"Were you waiting for us?" Jethro said.
"Oo eh. Kanina pa kasi kayo umalis. Nagalala na si nanay sa inyo."
"Eh ikaw? Hindi kaba nagalala?" Then Jethro winked at me, I was slightly suprised. Nagpaparamdam na ata tong si Jethro kay Mary Jane.
"Wow. First time ni Mary Jane naghintay sa labas." Sabi ko habang palabas ng kotse at pumasok kagad sa loob. Nabangga ko pa nga si Mary Jane.
