Chapter 4

 Chase turned quickly and ran towards me. I dropped my books and ran as well. The animal- it looked like a wolf- ran towards us fast. It ran into Chase and he flew into me and we both landed on the floor. The wolf ran down the hall, and i could hear the front doors burst open, which was how i knew he was gone. I tried to sit up but my arm hurt pretty bad and i knew i was going to have bruises on me in the morning. At the sound of all the noise everyone came rushing out into the hallway.

  "Oh my god. Lia are you okay? Chase?" Beck said pushing through to get to us.

 I looked up at him, "Yeah i'm okay."

  He looked at my arm.

 "No your not, your hurt. So is Chase," Beck said looking at Chase for the  first time.

 Chase was hurt and surprisingly so was I. Chase had a huge gash on his side, kinda like the one I had on my arm. Only mine was bigger and it was dripping blood onto the floor. Chase had finally sat up and ws looking at me.

 "Lia you dont look so good. Beck, i'm okay. Take her to the nurse, " Chase said and nodded to the teacher that was beside him as he looked at his side.

  Beck took off his jacket and wrapped it around my arm. Then he picked me up with one arm under my knees and the other under my head. As he was making his way through, people moved out of the way pretty quickly.

 "Lia, stay awake. You look really pale. come on, we're almost there," Beck said to me opening the door to the hallway leading to the nurse's office.

 Once he carried me in, the nurse told him to put me on the bed. I looked at Beck when the nurse went in the other room ot get a wrap for my arm.

 "I saw something. Something big, and black, I think it was a wolf that attacked us. I'm serious. i know what i saw," i said, but stopped when the nurse came back.

   "This is going to sting for a minute," She said then poured something on my arm.

It burned so bad, but i didnt flinch at all. I squeezed Beck's hand so hard i thought i was going to break i, but he seemed fine. Finally the burning stopped, and i let go of him. The nurse walked back out to grab a bandage.

 "Lia, are you sure? It could have been a dog," Beck said looking down at me.

  "A dog is the size of you, and has monster like claws? I dont think so. It was a wolf," I said to him, the look on my face was as serious as it could get.

 Beck only nodded when the nurse came back.

 "Okay honey, I'm gonna wrap your arm up, then you should be good to go. But try not to do anything to make it bleed anymore than it already has okay?" She asked me wrapping my arm.

 I nodded to her as they brought Chase in. He was looking rather pale himself as they set him on the other bed in the room. Beck turned to Chase for a minute and they talked. Then he turned back to me.

 "You guys are good here. I'm going to go back to class before i get in trouble. Be careful, both of you. i mean it. I'll see you guys later," Beck said and he walked out the door and disapeared down the hallway. I looked at Chase.

 "How's your arm?" He asked me.

 "Fine. You saw that thing right? That animal?" I asked quietly when the nurse turned to her desk.

  "Yeah i did. But who's gonna believe us, Lia. No one saw it, no one was there but us," Chase replied.

 "Yeah, your right. But that doesnt mean that it didnt happen," I said before someone screamed and yelled something.

 People where running down the hallway to the front doors of the school. Beck came back in the nurse's office looking scared.

"Whatever attacked you guys was still here. It killed someone. We think it was Mr.Dylans," Beck said looking us in the eye.

 "Chase I told you...i told you. Did anyone see it," I asked Beck.

   "No. It was gone by the time someone saw the body. But the police are telling everyone not to panic. The school is on lockdown for the rest of the day though. No one comes in or out," Beck explained.

  "That animal came in when the doors where unlocked. Do you think it wont find a way back in even if the doors are locked. I guarantee you that that thing will still get in even if we're on lockdown. It's an animanl. Is it really gonna stop because of some locked doors and glass windows?" I said panicking a little bit.

  Chase and Beck both looked at me but the nurse spoke up, obviously listening to our conversation.

 "She's not wrong you know," the nurse said only loud enough for us to hear.

   "Yeah we know. Okay, come on. We need to get you two to class, " Beck said helping first me then Chase off the beds.

  We walked out and into the hallways where everyone was still looking at the ambulance that was loading a body into the truck. Shane spotted me at the back and walked over.

  "Are you okay?" He asked before he noticed Beck and Chase both beside me.

 They both looked at him like lunch meat. I cleared my throat and spoke up.

  "Shane, these are my friends: Chase and Beck. Guys this is Shane. He's new and i ran into him this morning. Yeah Shane i'm fine. Thank you," i said then turned back to the window.

 Shane nodded to Chase and Beck and then went back to the group of kids, where as Chase, Beck, and I stayed away from the crowds and off to the side to look out the wndows. I knew that Chase and Beck would give me a earful later, but right now they where quiet.
