Chapter 22

~~Lia's POV~~

  I looked down at Eric tied up below me on the ground.

"Why'd you kill them Eric," Brian asked him.

  Eric smiled, "You already know why."

No one spoke. I shivered and turned around thinking someone was there. But no one was. I backed up from the group a little bit so they all had room to circle around Eric. My phone buzzed in my back pocket. I took it out and answered it not even bothering to look at the person who was calling.

  "Hello," I said.

"Lia, where are you? It's 2 in the morning. I'm at your house because you parents think you've been  kidnapped!" Chase shouted into the phone.

 "Chase im fine. Tell Mom and Dad I'm with Brian. I really have to go," I said and I didn't give him a chance to answer before I hung up.

 I put my phone back in my pocket and faced the guys. They where talking to Eric quietly but I could tell he wasnt saying anything. I sighed and began walking around in circles. After a while I became dizzy and stumbled. Someone caught me and helped me stand up.

  "Thanks," I said looking up.

It was Shane. My eyes widened at him and he put a hand over my mouth. I bit his hand and he yelled.

  "Auggg! What the hell!" He grabbed his hand.

"Dont touch me!" I yelled back.

  Beck and they guys turned around to stare at me and Shane. Beck started to walk towards us but Brian stopped him.

  "Let her handle it on her own," I heard him say.

"What is your problem, Lia. I help you and you treat me like crap. There is just no pleasing you is there?" Shane asked me .

 "My problem? You didn't help me! You kidnapped me and forced me to kiss you! How am I supposed to be pleased with something like that?" I yelled at him.

  "Becuase I did it so Eric wouldnt kill you. He told me if I didnt do it he would kill you right in fron of me, and I couldnt let that happen. So, you should be thanking me!"

    "I have a hard time believing that. Especially after what happened today. I'm not going to thank you for doing this to me. Im tempted to take care of you right now!" I yelled getting in his face.

   "What are you going to do about it?' he said sneering at me.

I punched him in the face and jumped on him when he fell  so that I could keep hitting him. All the guys came up behind me and pulled me off of Shane kicking and screaming. Jacob and Scott came up behind Shane and lifted him up while Brian tied him up too. \

  "I hate you!" I yelled kicking while Alecand Beck where holding me away from Shane.

"Lia, if you dont calm down we're gonna have to tie you up too," Beck wispered to me.

  After a couple minutes I stopped and they set me down. I sunk down to the floor and sat indian style quietly. I just sat there and stared at Shane. He looked like he was knocked out; his head was bent down at the floor and he was slummped against the wall. After a little while someone sat down beside me. I didn't look over to see who it was; I didnt have the energy. I layed my head down on their shoulder and I was tempted to fall asleep, but I knew I couldnt.

   "How are you?" Alec asked me.

"I'm doing okay considering the curcumstances,'" I replied.

  "Personally I would have let you beat the crap out of him for what he did. But Brian said he wanted Shane alive and consious. So he made us grab you so you wouldnt kill him," Alec said laughing quietly.

 I laughed too and sat up.

   "What are they going to do with him? Shane I mean," I asked him.

"I dont know. But we do have to take him back to the pack house. We'll keep him tied up, but he has to stay there until the Elders come to sentence him," Alec replied.

   "The who?" I asked looking at him.

"The Elders. They are the oldest group of werewolves on earth. They've been around since the beginning of time. They are the ones who make our laws and our CLC, or our Canis Lupus Code. They're kinda like a court in the human world. A lot of our rules are like the human rules. Like, we cannnot kill one another. But some have different terms. You know how parents always tell their kids they have to listen to them. Well, its the same way with us except we have an Alpha. Yes, we still listen to our parents, but our Alpha has the same ammount of equal control as our parents. It's a bit confusing, but you'll understand eventually," Alec explained looking down at me.

  Across from us, Shane still looked knocked out. I watched him closely. He was breathing steadily, and his hair was slung across his eyes.

  "What will they sentence him too? Will they kill him?" I asked suddenly.

Even after all he's done to me, I still dont want him to be killed.

  "No, they wont kill him. They'll probably just banish him from the pack. Or they'll let him stay in town, but take away his wolf.'

  "What does that mean?" I asked him curiously.

"They take his wolf esence away so he'll be human again. He'll still be able to remember everything, but he wont be a werewolf anymore. He can still live in town too, but I dont know how well he'll be respected enough anymore by any Alpha's,' Alec paused for a minute and I thought he was done but he spoke again.

  "He also wont be able to get his wolf back. Ever. He will be mortal for the rest of his life. He will age, and die like all mortals. Unlike us, we live forever," Alec continued.

  His face was blank as he looked at Shane. As I looked between the trees the sun was slowly rising, telling me I'd been here all night. I layed my head on Alec's shoulders and fell asleep staring at the sun.
