Soul Mates

Chapter 6

Lauren's POV

   I saw 3 figures of people enter the building we were in. I couldn't really see anything from where I was hiding but I could hear what they were saying. They were mutants who help other mutants. I didn't know if I should believe anything they were saying. When the person stopped talking I saw Clarice motion us to stay and be quiet. She walked out and started speaking with the people who claimed to be one of us.

   I looked at Andy and was nervous about what was going to happen to us if this was a trap. I heard another male voice say he knew we were there and to come out. I didn't want to go but Andy got up and walked out without me noticing. I continued to sit there in case they needed my help. When I saw Andy reach for my hand I reluctantly got out from the hiding space, and got a good look at the people.

   There was one female who's hair was black but I could a little bit of green. I figured it was dyed so I didn't think much of it. The next person was Male and looked like he was Hispanic. His hair was short and kind of curly but he was tall and fit. Lastly I saw another male who was also tall, but bigger and much more muscled than the other guy. His hair was dark brown, straight, and went up to his shoulders, it was also in a ponytail.

   He was definitely much better looking than the other guy. His brown eyes met my own and I seemed to lose my ability to breath. He continued to stare at me and I was trying not to blush. I saw him look at our hands than looked away. I was a bit disappointed but I couldn't understand why. I just met this guy and already I'm acting like a fangirl.

   I saw him focus outside and run towards the metal door. I watched as he closes it and I started to hear the sirens of cop cars outside. Great they found us and we probably will be getting caught this time because there's only one way out of here. I heard the woman say to get ready to fight then run to a van they brought. I really shouldn't go with strangers but they had a ride and I figured what the hell. Andy pushed me behind him and was looking at the door.

   I can only make shields so I figured I can protect them all while they do the fighting. I know Andy still can't control his powers but I hope he won't use it unless he has too. Soon I heard a guy with a microphone start speak to us.

   "You are surrounded there's no escaping come out with your hands held up high and behind your heads."

   "Yea like that's going to happen," the woman who I just seen say.

   She raised her hands and I noticed green lights surrounding them. I looked and saw her raise metal rods up in the air and had them face the windows. She then released them and sent them crashing through the windows towards the people outside.

   "Hurry let's go now," I heard the cute guy say to all of us.

   I ran with Andy and Clarice and we ran behind the other 3 people. When we got outside I saw the metal rods sticking out of the cars. I also noticed some police raising they're guns and start shooting. I was getting ready to make the shields when I felt the attractive guy grab me and forced me to follow him.

   "Don't touch me," I told him in anger while pulling my arm away.

   The bullets were going to hit us all and I could have prevented it. I noticed how he tensed up and had shock all over his face. I realized I didn't feel any bullets and now I knew why. The woman from before was stopping them from making contact with us. I saw the other stranger shoot what looked like lasers out of his hands blowing up two cop cars, making all of them duck for cover.

   Some car parts were heading towards us so I made shields around the both of us and another around Andy. After they made contact with the shields I tried rushing towards my brother, but was stopped once again by the same person. I tried pulling away but he held on tight.

   "I'm trying to help," I heard him say and this time I was the one to tense up.

   I saw Andy and the others running to us, the others ran past us but Andy stopped next to me and pulled me away from the person. We both ran after the others with the guy running behind us. I saw them enter a van and we got in, but Andy stayed outside.

   "WHAT ARE YOU DOING LETS GO," I yelled to him put he pointed to a group of cops getting ready to shoot.

   I was scared because I was already inside and I couldn't use my powers to save him, unless I had my hands outside. I tried getting out but the guy from before held me back.

   "Will you stop doing that I need to help him," I told the guy but he just shook his head.

   "Looks like he has it all under control," he told me and I looked out the back window.

   I saw them being thrown back and the buildings Coming down making a barrier between them and us. I saw Andy put his arms down got in the car before we sped away.

   When we got a safe distance away and weren't being followed I was able to breath easily. I noticed the person was still holding me and I moved away, this time he did let me go.

   "Well I'm Marcos the person next to me is my soul mate Lorna, and in the back is John, who are you guys," I heard who I now knew was Marcos say.

   So the person named John who held me back from helping said the words of my destined soul mate. And from his reaction back at the building I knew I probably said the words on his wrist. I let out a big sigh and was about to introduce myself to my new acquaintances. I decided to ignore the whole soul mate business for now.
