"I'll tell you if you make Valence your husband," Uncle said without hesitation. His words were so serious I couldn't even bring myself to laugh.

"I will never. I hate the guts of that guy." I remember how high-mighty he said that from now on I'm his fiancee. Damn that disgusts me.

"Then I can't tell you all about your parents."

"You don't have to if you don't want. I'm not marrying that guy. Thus, what's that got to do with what I want to know?"

"Kiyoshi Tsuyoki is a very dangerous man. People like him only have one word. He accepted Valence's challenge for your hand. This means, even if you refuse Valence, you are already the main involvement. Unless you choose between Valence and Tsuyoki's offer, both party will have to kill each other."

"Kill each other? What--"

"We're mafias. You can't expect us to turn our back to our pride."

"I still don't understand, Uncle. Why were they so eager to have me? What's Valence agenda? What's Mr. Tsuyoki really want? This is confusing. I'm not even part of Mafioso."

"Kung ganoon naman pala bakit sinabi mo pang kailangan ko siyang layuan umpisa pa lang ng araw na 'to?"

"What did you say when he asked for my hand?"

"What if I say no to both? Ano'ng posibleng mangyari?"

Napatayo ako. Nagsimulang mamuo ang takot sa dibdib ko. "No..."

Nanlalatang ibinagsak ko ang katawan sa kama. Inihatid ako ng isa sa mga tauhan ni Uncle sa dorm ko para makapagpahinga na. Padilim na nang magawa kong ipikit ang mga mata ko at makatulog.

Naging mahimbing naman ang tulog ko. Pero di ko inaasahan na iyon na pala ang pinakahuling pagkakataon na makakatulog ako ng maayos. Pasado alas y cinco ng umaga nang maalimpungatan ako sa naging pagkatok ng sinuman sa pinto. I'm not a morning person kaya pasensiya na sa masuwerteng taong iyon.

"Who the hell--" bungad ko pagkabukas ng pinto subalit nabitin nang ma-realize ang pamilyar na mukha ng isang bata na kalong ng isang lalaking may pagkakamukha rito. "Kamina?"

"Ane-chan!" umiiyak na sabi nito. He spread his short arms to me. He wants me to carry him?

Hindi naman ako nagdalawang-isip. Kinuha ko siya mula sa lalaking kasama niya. Nasurpresa ako sa mahigpit na kapit ni Kamina sa leeg ko habang ngumangawa. "What's wrong, Kamina? Is something happened?" Napangiwi ako nang Nihongo ang naging pagsusumbong niya. Ibinaling ko ang tingin sa kasama niya. As I look at him, I see so much resemblance of Kamina from him.

He flashed a sorry smile. "I'm sorry for the disturbance. My brother was scared you left the island because he thought our father had frightened you away," he explain.

I nodded. "How was he able to get here? Kids like him aren't allowed in Senior Area."

"Maybe you know who's my father already. He allowed us to come here but secretly."

"Of course he did." Inalo ko si Kamina. "Come on don't cry. I'm here, Kamina. I didn't leave you know?"

Mas lalo lang humigpit ang yakap niya sa'kin. Pero huminahon naman na siya sa pag-iyak. Pasinghot-singhot nga lang. "Pwease...don't leave mwe, Ane-chan..."

"I won't. So stop crying now okay?"

He nodded in response.

"Good boy." I turn my gaze back at the older brother. "He's already calm now. You can take him--"

"No!" Kamina refuse to let go of me. "If I  lweave 'that' ugly Onii-san will get you! Hew'll take you away!"

"Yes I'm taking her away, you brat." I'm startled to hear the same ignorant voice coming from my left. There, I saw Valence stand a few meters away with a gloomy aura.

"Valence," I sensed the displeased tone of the older brother. "What are you doing here?"

"That's what I'm suppose to be saying."

Whoops, I feel danger. "You guys have fun hanging out here. I'll put Kamina and myself to sleep now. Bye." Before any one of them reacts I already got the door closed.

I sigh in stressed manner. Gosh, this is so annoying. How long will that guy keep following me? Is he still going on with me being his fiancee? Then sorry to say, I still refuse.

Gently I put Kamina on my bed. I gave him a peck on the cheeks. I ruffled his hair. "Go sleep now. You still have class tomorrow."

"You won't gow away?" he said in a cute manner. Made me smile in awe.

"No. I'm going to sleep next to you. 'S that okay with you?"

He nodded gain. This time he is smiling. Aww, so cute. What's it called in Nihongo? Kawaii? I chuckled. "Close your eyes now, Kami, Ane-chan will be right beside you."

So we spent the last remaining two hours sleeping next to each other. Kami was really clingy. He didn't let go of me even when we were getting ready for a new day. Classes for him, tour for me.
