"You glad to finally be done school McClain?" Keith said running up behind Lance and grabbing his shoulders, shaking him back and forth.

"How long were you out here for?" Lance said and he walked down the steps away from his high school.

"Just a few minutes." Keith said, distracted as he adjusted the strings on his sweater so they were equal lengths. Lance never understood how Keith could wear a sweater in this heat.

"You're pathetic." Lance shook his head and stopped to wait for the crosswalk light to turn on. "You wanna come over tonight? Mom and Dad are working the night shift and the siblings are with Aunt Kora." The light turned green and the two of them quickly walked across the street. "Dad finally fixed the TV. Ashton got some new games so we can try them out. Pretty sure Mario cart is there." Lance raised his eyebrows at Keith.

"I was considering saying no. But since Mario Cart is involved I guess I'll come." Keith said, finally letting go of his sweater strings.

"Asshole." Lance punched Keith in the arm and Keith returned the punch, the two continued their walk towards Lances place.

"I'm starving. Let's stop at the gas station and get something to eat." Lance and Keith turned up the street towards the old gas station on the corner.

"Man. I can't wait till I have enough money to buy one of these." Lance couldn't help but laugh out loud, resulting in some confused glares from a few bikers who were parked nearby.

"That car is like 100 years old Keith. You want to work hard and save your money so you can buy an old piece of junk like this." Lance bit down on his tongue trying to hold in more laughter and pushed Keith into the gas station. Keith rolled his eyes at Lance and they both split up, going down different isles. After they payed for the snacks, the two boys walked back outside into the heat of the day. "Why are you wearing a sweater? It's 100° out here."

"You have a problem with my sweater Lance?" Keith said, placing his hand over his chest pretending to be hurt. Then putting a jolly rancher in his mouth.

"Yes. You're making me uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure I'm sweating for you." Keith laughed at Lances statement and the two continued walking down the sidewalk towards the beach houses.

"Hey. I bet it's a good day to surf!" Lance said practically beaming. He loved the ocean. Lance was ether in the water or just laying in the sand listening to the waves. Keith's uncle was the one who taught them both how to surf. Lance caught on quicker then Keith and that formed an on going competition between the two. Who ever fell off the most had to give the other all of their video games for a week. It was dumb but they had fun with it.

"Sure." Keith said. "I'm just gonna run to my house and get my stuff." Keith ran across the yard to his house and lance continued walking up his driveway. He lifted up the matt that laid on the deck and grabbed the key. Lance stood up and put it into the lock. After a few tries he finally got it unlocked and walked into his house.

"We really need to fix that door." Lance said to himself. He quickly ran up the short set of stairs to his bedroom and threw his school bag into his closet. He walked over to his dresser and pulled out his wetsuit. As warm as it was outside he knew the water would still be freezing, considering it usually didn't warm up until later in the summer.

The sound of the front door opening told lance that Keith was ready. Lance quickly pulled his wetsuit on and grabbed a towel. "You're getting slower McClain." Keith said walking through Lances kitchen to the door that led to the back deck.

"Whatever Keith." Lance said and he grabbed his board before following Keith outside. The beach starts just a few metres from where the edge of Lances yard was so they both raced to the water.
