I Should Have Stayed.

I'm supposed to be studying for my exams that start in 4 days but hey what's a better way to procrastinate then making myself cry.

"Keith! You have to come with us. We don't have enough people to defend the castle! We are part of a team." Lance shouted after Keith.

"You've done it before. I have to go meet the other blade members. They are waiting for me." Keith said and he put his hood up before walking out of the door.

"Unbelievable." Lance muttered and he made his way to the red lion.

Everyone was already waiting for him outside and he quickly flew his lion to meet up with the others.

"Is Keith coming?" Lance heard shiros voice coming through the speaker in his helmet.

"No." Lance said, annoyance in his voice. "He's lost sight of what it means to be a team."

"He probably has something more important to do. We will be fine." Alluras voice now filled Lances ears. But he didn't reply, only turned his lion around and began flying in the direction of the galra fleet that headed towards them. Then he noticed the others joining him and they all flew together in unison.

They easily defeated to first fleet because it was small and they weren't attacking very aggressively but more kept on coming until they were surrounded on all sides.

"We need to form voltron!" Shiro shouted. So they all began flying straight up, focused and waited patiently but nothing happened.

"Why isn't it working? I thought we were past this stage already." Hunk said nervously.

"Not everyone is connecting to their lions. Lance clear your head and think about the task at hand." Shiro ordered and lance was quite offended that he assumed this was Lances fault.

"Why are you blaming me? My head is perfectly fine shiro!" He retorted.

"Okay then everyone focus." Shiro said hurriedly and they all resumed to joining their minds together. At this point no one could focus on forming voltron and the ships had closed in on all of them.

"This isn't going to work. We actually have to fight back now." Lance yelled and he pulled away from the group, firing at the ships.

"Lance! We need to work together." Shiro yelled as he watched lance make his way towards the ship. But lance had shut the speakers off, the only thing he could hear was his own breathing and the sound of lasers shooting. If Keith could do whatever he wanted then so could he. Everyone couldn't just pretend the team wasn't falling apart and act like everything was normal when it wasn't.

He quickly made his way towards the galra fleet, dodging out of the way of lasers and weaving in and around the ships. If Keith had stayed to help they wouldn't be in this mess. Instead he was off playing ninja with a couple of strangers he had just met a few days ago. Lance couldn't help but feel slightly offended that Keith still didn't feel comfortable enough with the Paladins to stay.

"Wait one second. I think I got in. Lance? Hey lance?" Pidges voice shouted loudly in Lances ears and he jumped in his seat.

"Pidge did you really find it necessary to hack into my helmet?!" Lance grumbled.

"Yes I did." Pidge said and he heard someone else join the line.

"Lance I don't know what's gotten into you but you need to smarten up. You realize we need to communicate to keep each other safe right? You can't just go silent on us." Shiros voice said.

"Keith did and no one said anything about that. You didn't even try to convince him to stay. You let him leave and now we can't even form voltron anymore." Lance said and he fired a laser at a ship that was heading for him. Then he saw the other lions join him.
