"It's ok, Jack." She giggles cutely. "Look, when we were in Snake Rock, we didn't know that you were doing it for our care packages, so I just thought you were doing it to be greedy. But, thank you, and I'm sorry too."
Wrapping my arms around her back and bringing her close, Holly's chest presses to mine. I breathe heavily with relief across her bare shoulder skin, as she's wearing only a top with spaghetti straps. Sinking into the warmth of her whilst rubbing small circles on her arm, I joke "You know you're the only person I know who gives indefinite hugs?"
And she answers, "where else would I rather be?"

"So," Becky smiles at Jack and I as we emerge from the path together with stacks of wooden logs in our hands. We must have spent a good few hours messing about, trying our hardest to find dry logs, but we had fun doing it. "I see you two are back on good terms?"
"Yeah, we're good." Jack smiles, playfully wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
Since this morning when we talked, Jack and I have grown closer again. I mean, nowhere near as close and flirty as we were, but, we are definitely in friendly territory.
Chucking the logs down, watching Jack receive and open his care package of chocolate and funnily enough a lilo, I ask scanning the empty camp, "where is everyone?"
"Doing chores and stuff," Becky sounds. "Iain is still at the trial which is weird. He should have been back ages ago."
"How do you think he's doing?" Jack asks from beside me.
"Yeah fine." I agree. "I think he will be ok, or I hope so! I'm freaking starving." I laugh.
"Hey, Jack?" A different and squeakier voice calls from behind us, belonging to Dennis as he fills the water bags on the right of the pathway. "You two ok?"
"Good." He replies, smiling at me and back over to Dennis. That cheeky smile, bright eyes and soft surfer hair completely flattened with no style to it. Every word of his makes my heart beat a little faster.
"I didn't mean you two." He corrects. "I meant you and Jamie."
And my heart slows down again. "Oh," Jack drags, looking back at me again where is face is a little paler. "Is he alright?"
"Yeah, but he just wants to check if you two are alright."
"Where is he?"
"Shower," Dennis replies.
Jack turns to myself and Becks. "I'll be back in a second."
Jogging down the pathway and out of sight, an extra body comes the opposite way down the path, that happens to be Iain.
"Jack is a good guy, Holly," Becky whispers before cheering when Iain walks back into camp. "How was it?"
"I didn't do it." he says. Not only frustration, but disappointment, fear, and anger are all hidden in his face. "It was underwater and small spaces. I'm sorry. I just couldn't do it."
"Awh, don't worry." I say sympathetically, jumping up from the log and wrapping him in a hug. "Don't worry, Iain."
"It's just, "he croaks, "I know how hungry you all are and I tried my best honestly but, I just really couldn't."
"It's fine Iain." Dennis relates, patting his back softly as a group of a few other campmates jog back to camp. Surrounding the fire with myself beside him, stroking his back as his face is buried in his hands, he starts to describe this hideous trial. "So you dive 3 meters down into this little air pocket, and then swim down this narrow tunnel to this other bit but, I'm not a strong swimmer and I just couldn't breathe."
"It'll be ok Iain," I whisper, stroking his back. "Go and take a nap ok, it's been a long day."
Guiding Iain up to 10 Downing Creek and allowing him to settle in his bed, Shappi comes up beside me, smiling and going inside the building to have a chat.
"Hey, " Jennie questions, "where's Jack and Jamie?"
"They'll be back in a sec. Hey, Vanessa, I was actually going to ask you, are the Saturday's still making music?" I ask.
"No," she smiles, as we get into an in-depth conversation about her career which seems so eventful and interesting. "We stopped a few years ago."
"I was like the biggest fan of yours growing up."
"Seriously?" She gasps, "that's great!"
"Yeah, I mean what about us was one of my favourite songs ever." I laugh. "What you doing to my head!" I sing, jumping up from the floor as Amir and Dennis laugh hysterically at Vanessa and me.
"Should be here with me instead!" She joins in, jumping up and hugging me tightly. "What about those words you said! What about us!"
"Whoop whoop!" Shappi cheers, shutting the door of the little hut and joining us, "you know I can rap the whole of one of Stormzy's songs?"
"No way," Amir gasps in disbelief, "Shappi you're joking?"
"Nope, " she goes to start, but in a heartbeat, Jack and Jamie appear, smiling greatly as Jamie also carries a laminate down to camp.
"I have a laminate!" He announces with a grin, looking at us all. Jack jogs down beside us, sitting down where I was before myself and Vanessa burst into song.
"Can Jamie and Jennie please report to the Dingo Dollar Challenge area?" He reads. "Let's go Jen!"
"Let's go!" She cheers, throwing her arms in the air and placing down her little orange monkey, that her son Albert gave to her, and chasing after Jamie down the path.
As they disappear, Vanessa and I burst into song again, making our way down to the shower.
"V, your figure is insane!" I compliment as we join each other, squealing under the shower water.
"Thanks, hun," she replies. "Is everything alright now with everyone?"
"I think so," I reply. "I mean I think me and Jamie will probably stay friends."
"And you and Jack?" She grins, chucking me a towel that lays over my red bikini. "Are you guys back on?"
"What do you mean?"
"You two were practically dating before this whole thing happened. Remember? You used to lay in the hammocks together, do the dunny,"
"Because that was so romantic!" I joke, "but yeah, I mean we'll see what happens."
