|| A short Story ||

I returned back to the place I called home. I returned to the people that I trusted, loved, cared for. I was hugged, kissed, cherished. All but one continued to converse with me. That one person was the one I had truly loved. But now that she was gone, what was left to do but fade away?

Afterwards, I spoke less and less. Nobody noticed. Nobody cared to ask if something was wrong. Only she knew, only she could hear my silent tears. But still, she avoided me. At all costs, she never said a word. We used to jokingly say, "I love you," or so I thought. She was not joking, but I told everyone she was. Oh how she cried and oh how foolish I was. I loved her too, but not enough to tell her seriously.

I did not take the chance and now she's gone.

My world has collapsed.

Nobody is there.

Where are you?

Where have you gone?

Hello?

Is anyone there?

She now stands before me, watching my every move. I have not cut, in fear she may yell at me. Though, does she really care? She did not miss me. Not one bit. But I missed her, I missed her more than the rest. Yet here we are, separated.
