Light and Dark

I'm not only afraid of the dark,
I'm afraid of the light as well.
Light produces shadows,
But the dark produces a sort of
Hideaway for those shadows.

The dark creates monsters
And the light forces them
To go away until dark again.
But they're always there,
Light or dark.

The light makes the best things
Seem so awful in the dark
The most beautiful
Becomes the most terrifying
And nobody can hide from that.

No, we cannot hide.
Not during the light,
Not during the dark.
Light doesn't protect us,
And the dark is scarier
Than it lets off to be.
