dear bear,

it was your first day of school. you spent at least ten minutes crying when i tried to drop you off. but you stopped crying once a teacher offered you candy.

when i arrived to pick you up at school, you looked really happy. you were skipping with your small feet, your small pigtails bounced up and down.

you kept talking about your teacher ms.eun the whole car ride. it was my first time seeing you so attached to someone outside of our family friend circle. she sounded like a very lovely person at that time.

you kept rambling on and on about how she gave you a lollipop without the other kids knowing because you kept falling. you even showed me your small olaf sticker on your knee. 

but after a while you unexpectedly became quiet. i stopped the car when we arrived home and turned around to face you. i'll never forget that expression you had on your face. 

it was an expression that no child should ever have. it was an expression filled with anguish and anger. the next few words and question you asked broke my heart.

you started to cry while wailing. you were sad about seeing other students with both their parents. you were mad that you didn't have your mom by your side. my heart sunk to the bottom of my chest.

i didn't know what to say. please don't be mad at your mom. she didn't leave because she wanted too. i just want you to know this, everything that happens for a reason. we just don't know why.
