dear bear,
i hope you see this letter sometime in the future when you are a senior in high school.
when you enter your senior year you'll realize how difficult things get. people approaching you everyday about where you are going and what you want to do.
there's times where you just feel as if nothing is going the way you want it to. you feel jealous seeing others succeed while you are stuck in one continuous loop.
it starts to weigh you down. making it difficult for you to do any work. you feel numb from all the stress and your eyes carry heavy bags underneath. you feel like you want to just cry but nothing runs down your cheeks.
i totally understand how you might feel. i felt incredibly trapped inside as no one was willing to lend me a hand for help. they assume that you will be fine since you will soon to be an "adult."
don't be afraid to cry for some help. there will be someone willing. like me. i will do anything to help you. it's weird as you transition from teenager to young adult.
but it's okay, things will get better. if you have nothing you want to do. take a gap year and figure yourself out.
it doesn't matter if you have your life set up right away before college. you can still be stuck and confused. that's a part of your young adult chapter of your life. it's fine to make mistakes.
how else would we learn?
people change majors and plans 24/7 in college. don't be jealous.
your class/position at school or in life in general doesn't matter. what matters is hardwork and doing something you are truly happy about.
even if it takes 40 bajillion years to figure out what exactly you want.
i will always be one step behind you bear.
love,
kim taehyung
