dear bear,
your teacher and i went out for dinner today. i felt bad since i've been picking you up so late for the past few days. she's been staying after school for a few minutes just to wait for me to come and pick you up.
i decided to just go for it and ask her if she would like to go out for dinner.
she looked really shocked. it was kind of adorable actually. her cheeks were red and she stuttered as she said sure. i assured her that this wasn't a date but more of a thank you dinner.
she seemed to understand.
i picked her up— she lives 30 minutes away from where we live, midtown. i've never been to her side of town before. there was a lot of interesting artwork all over walls while some people played groovy music to add to the aesthetic of the town.
we went to a decent sized diner located in downtown and ate. i recommend going there one day.
tonight was interesting, i kind of forgot about her being your teacher for a while.
after conversing with her, i found out that she went to the same university as me when we were younger. that's why she looked somewhat familiar.
she's the girl that i did the photography project with. lim jiwoo.
she used to be roommates with your mother as well. i never paid attention to your mom when she was rambling about her stories (whoops). if your mom saw that prior sentence, she would flip out.
tonight was different and i don't know how to feel about it. but i definitely feel a lot more comfortable after finding out that we were all connected somehow.
on the other hand— you've been speaking a lot more lately. you have also been rejecting my kisses as well. your father is really sad, bear. have you already reached the age of no kisses?
i'm not sure what this letter is supposed to be about.
maybe it should be a letter about thanking others.
appreciate everyone and thank them for what they do. that's my mission to you. thank one person every day. can you do that, bear?
love,
kim taehyung
