dear bear,

your mother's name means joy and prosperity. she was an extraordinary person. she had a beautiful smile that could light up the whole room. but at the same time, your mom was very feisty and sarcastic. she used to say that she learned her sarcasm from your uncle suga.

she was also very stubborn and strong opinionated. i've never seen someone with a huge aura like your mom in my life, other than your grandma, of course

we first met in college but we didn't start dating till years later. but i'll tell you that story another day. but for now, you'll have to do with the story on how we first met 2.0 (we actually met another way before class)

your mother majored in journalism while i was an art major. ah, i forgot to mention, your mom minored in art as well. i remember that day super clearly.

she walked into our classroom with such a powerful aura. her dark hair was tied up into a loose bun that was threatening to fall apart. she wore loose fitting jeans and a colorful sweater on top, easily catching the eyes of girls who seek her aesthetic.

don't ask me why i still remember that. the minute she walked in, i knew i messed up from an incident that happened between the two of us in the morning.

she sat next to me during our independent time. my style of art was a mixture of post impressionism while your mother's style leaned towards fauvism. something that wasn't so commonly seen in our class.

i couldn't focus at all during that time. i tried speaking to her but she had gained a huge dislike for me after our messy incident in the morning. which is something i can't tell you for now, but you'll get the full story later.

that's just about it. there's nothing really huge other than the occasional bickering between your mother and i had during our hangouts  and during projects.

the only thing i can say is that i will always be drawn and jealous of your mothers easy brush strokes and beautiful writing.

i promise that i'll tell you the full story another day, maybe with more detail. i had to step out of my comfort zone to meet your mother. it took a lot of effort and memorable events but it was worth it. your mom was worth it.

if i was given the choice to marry your mom again in my next life— i would take that choice. so i want you to remember this, step out of your comfort zone because that's when life suddenly starts to look even more beautiful.

love,
kim taehyung
