Lovino was slouched on his chair, clad in a fitting black suit, a glass of brandy in hand, yawning in boredom. He came to the bar tonight, thinking that someone would make him lose at poker.
Bored might've been the downside, but the money he got from all the gambles was the advantage. Even so, it was tedious.
You walked in the bar, in all your beauty. Your red dress fit you like a glove, your hair was left open, and your lips were lathered with red. All eyes were on you, except for this one man who was concentrated on his poker game.
Ignoring all the perverted gazes, you strode up to the bar and ordered a martini. You sat up straight on the bar stool and leaning on the table, you stared at the very table where a serious poker game ensued.
The handsome man with brown hair and black suit looked bored as he looked at his cards. When his turn came, he slammed it on the table and his opponent groaned loudly.
He gestured with his hands to hand over the money, which the opponent reluctantly handed. The opponent walked out of the bar, looking defeated.
This amused you. This black suited man looked bored of winning, which was unusual. Shifting in your seat, you watched the last person challenge this brown haired man.
Not even fifteen minutes passed and the man's opponent was defeated. After the opponent walked away, you finished your martini, and walked up to him. He was about to drown the brandy in one gulp when you interrupted.
"I think you might want to save your drink for one more game, sir." You smiled.
"Oh, so you're next, eh?" He smirked.
"I'd like to try my luck." You sat down.
"I'll have you know that I've won every single game of poker I've played. Lady Luck has always been on my side."
"Maybe..." you smiled coyly, "You never know, dear, when your Lady Luck could betray you."
He seemed irked by that comment, but he didn't say anything much. It was true, he did admit. He slammed his glass on the table, took the deck of cards and shuffled it with inhumane speed.
"What's your name?" you asked.
"Lovino Vargas." He replied, smiling, as he distributed five cards to you.
"I think I might know you." You hummed, "Are you the elder brother of Feliciano Vargas?"
"Yes, how did you know?" he looked at you suspiciously.
"Your brother is my business partner." You replied.
"Then, you must be ____ _____, correct?" he asked and you nodded.
"Feliciano keeps going on and on about how beautiful you look. And I'll admit, you really are a stunner." He smiled.
"I'm flattered, thank you." You smiled back at him.
"It was a nice chat, but shall we begin?" he narrowed his eyes mischievously as he picked up his hand of cards.
"So, how much money will you bet?" you asked.
"I already have much money, and I'm currently not interested in getting anymore." He said, "How about we don't bet with money?"
"I see." You nodded, "You know, I've seen you look so bored in your poker games, so if I may, I'll make this an unforgettable game for you."
"Go on."
"If I win, you're going to be my boyfriend.
"Nice." He snorted, "And if I win, I'm buying you any drink you like, no matter how expensive."
"Okay." You affirmed.
"Deal?" he held out his hand, which you shook firmly.
"Deal."
As you picked up your hand of cards, you noticed that he was smiling brightly. After he was done with his turn, he spoke,
"Bella, I forgot to tell you this, but I'm not going to go easy on you just because you're a woman."
"Likewise." You responded with an amused smile while you finished your turn.
Much time had passed in silence and Lovino was certain that had won the game. He had a straight flush, which was five cards in sequence, all of the suit of diamonds.
Just as soon as he thought he had the upper hand, you kept down your royal flush, which was an Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and a 10, all belonging to the suit of hearts. Lovino stared at you for a moment with wide eyes. He fell back on his seat and laughed loudly.
"Finally, I've lost."
"You look rather delighted at your loss." You smiled, "Don't you know that you're mine now?"
"I was intending to ask you out, but you already did it for me." He laughed and stood up, "It's a win-win for me."
You wondered since when he had intended to ask you out. But that could wait. Lovino held out his hand to you,
"Now, don't you want to celebrate your win with a drink?"
"Of course I do." You took his hand, giggling softly.
You simply came to the bar for a drink and go people watching, but didn't expect to get yourself a man tonight.
