Chapter 10: Can I Sleep?

The 4 enter Loth to find 90% of the people are asleep.

Jay: "(sighs) Looks like the people here have an issue with open eyes."

Ruby: "This town represents Sloth, so this was to be expected."

Jade: "So, Alyssa Duil is here?"

Jake: "3rd Gen Sloth?"

Jade: "Her ability is to stare you into a deep sleep."

Jay: "Doesn't sound bad."

Ruby: "But, she falls asleep at the worst possible times."

Jay: "Liability."

Jake: "I'm sure this Alyssa Duin has some potential."

Jay: "You say that."

The 4 walk around town to find even the guards are passed out.

Jake: "(in head) Guess we have no need to kill this time around."

They continue to stroll through town until they come to the local inn.

Innkeeper: "Room for 4?"

Jade: "You seem to be the first person we've seen taking their job seriously."

Innkeeper: "Someone has to."

The innkeeper looks at Jade and Ruby closer.

Innkeeper: "The Laven twins?!"

Ruby: "Yeah..."

Innkeeper: "Your exploits reached here, and we're agreeing with your ideals, the rulers have royally fucked up."

Jay: "Thanks."

Innkeeper: "But the bloodshed is a little too far."

Jay: "Had a feeling we'd get that eventually."

Innkeeper checks windows.

Innkeeper: "Can you take Duin off my hands?"

Jake, Jade, and Ruby: "Yes."

Jay: "Your problem, not mine."

Innkeeper leads them to a to a room with a girl with brown hair passed out.

Innkeeper: "Get up Alyssa!"

Alyssa begins to stir.

Alyssa: "Huh?"

Innkeeper: "These kids will take you off my hands."

Alyssa glares at Jake.

Jake: "(yawning) I only feel drowsy."

Alyssa: "Guess I'm not good enough."

Alyssa yawns like a madman.

Jade: "It's Jade, wake up before I punch you awake."

Alyssa gets up.

Alyssa: "(yawning) Hi, Jade, Ruby, and whoever the fuck you two are."

Jay: "Metal arm Jake, cool one Jay."

Alyssa: "(yawning) Can I go back to sleep?"

Jade: "We did register a room."

Innkeeper: "Tomorrow you will free us from Queen Dionys, correct?"

Ruby: "We need to free all of the guardians of sin before we get to Alcionus."

Jake walks into the room next door and crashes in the bed.

Jake: "(muffled) Night."

Jay jumps into the bed next to him.

Jay: "I could use a break too."

Jade: "Can anyone actually be serious in Loth?!"

Ruby lies down on a third bed.

Ruby: "You don't need to take everything so seriously Jade."

Jade: "If you guys won't, who will?"

Ruby and Jay pass out as well.

Innkeeper: "I'll have food ready in an hour, you can do whatever you please."

Jade: "I'll go for a walk."

Jade walks through the nooks and crannies of Loth, until she runs into a few awake guards.

Guard 1: "Identity yourself."

Jade: "(pulls out hammer) How about no?"

Guard 2: "We'll use any force necessary."

Guard 3: "I have our secret weapon."

The guard yanks out a feisty, wolf shaped Impurity.

Jade: "This won't even work up a sweat."

Jade smashes the first two guards into the ground, and counters away any attacks from the Impurity.

Guard 3: "Resistance is futile sin of Agony!"

The Impurity lunges for Jade.

Jade: "How about you realize that you're killing Delas."

Jade pulls out her broadsword and slices the Impurity from the jaw, and through it's back.

Guard 3: "(panicking) Fugitive!"

Jade: "Don't say I didn't warn you."

Jade stabs the guard through the chest and leaves him to die.

Jade: "I better get back to the inn."

Jade casually enters the inn.

Innkeeper: "Welcome back."

Jade: "How much longer?"

Innkeeper: "Just wrapping up. Do you mind waking up those 4?"

Jade: "Not a problem."

Jade smacks Jake and Jay awake.

Jake: "(mumbling) I was having a dream about food."

Jay: "And I was dreaming about my money back home."

Jade: "Food."

Jake: "At least one dream came true."

Jade smacks Ruby.

Ruby: "Ouch!"

Jade: "Food."

Jade moves to Alyssa's room and picks her up by the ankles and shaking her like crazy.

Alyssa: "(yawning) Food?"

Jade: "Just get up, and yes food."

Alyssa: "(yawning) Thanks."
