Chapter 14: Foresight

Jade and Jake are set down on two beds with their injuries facing upward.

Girl: "I'm going to need something to disinfect the cuts."

The girl grabs a clear, bubbling liquid and pours it into the cuts.

Girl: "Now to get fresh bandages."

The girl grabs a large amount of cloth and wraps some around Jade and the rest around Jake.

Girl: "All they need is rest."

Jay begins to speak.

Girl: "You're about to do one of your classic sighs."

Jay: "(sighs) Thanks... wait, how did you know?"

Girl: "I am the next gen Envy. My blood gives me access to foresight."

Ruby: "Holy shit! I couldn't recognize you at first Sam!"

Jay: "Sam?"

Sam: "Short for Samantha."

Alyssa: "(waking up) Huh?"

Jay: "If you actually have foresight, then you know what I am about to ask you."

Sam: "To help save Delas? Of course I will."

Ruby: "You always have been very agreeable with."

Jade wakes up.

Jade: "Alcionus you fu-."

Jade screams in pain.

Sam: "You shouldn't be moving yet, your gashes haven't closed yet."

Jade lies back down.

Jade: "We made it to Envious then?"

Jade looks at Jake.

Jade: "Dammit! I can't get up and moving without Jake's help!"

Sam: "Don't worry, he'll be up in an hour or two."

Jade: "(pissed) If he was awake, we could've saved Envious and moved on to Glutt."

Ruby: "About that..."

Ruby explains the real reason Alcionus tried to take her and Jake.

Jade: "(pissed) Bastard."

Sam: "We can handle my father while you recover."

Jade: "Fine... but if Jake wakes up sooner we'll help you guys out."

Alyssa: "(drowsy) Huh?"

Jay grabs Alyssa's arm.

Jay: "We're storming the palace. Don't fall asleep."

Alyssa: "Fine."

Jade lies down as the others leave.

Jade: "Wake the fuck up Jake..."

The others are about to enter the castle.

Ruby: "Let's go."

Sam grabs Ruby's arm.

Sam: "Wait a second."

Guard 1: "I gotta go take a leak."

Guard 2: "I can manage."

The guard leaves his post.

Ruby: "That foresight comes in handy."

Alyssa: "(drowsy) I guess."

Alyssa stares at the other guard.

Guard 2: "I feel like a quick snooze."

The other guard falls asleep.
