Chapter 5: Feel thy Wrath

Jade: "Looks like we're here."

The 4 had been traveling the desert for 5 days, finally arriving at Wraith, just after sunset.

Ruby: "(exhausted) I hurt everywhere."

Jake: "(sweaty) My ice barely lasted."

Jay: "Can you two please stop complaining? I'm glad we're through that too, but do you see me complaining?"

Jake: "(wiping away sweat) Fair enough."

Jay: "Let's go stop by the local inn. We need to recover for Wrath right?"

Jade: "At least you pay some attention."

As they walk throughout the streets, they see several people beating the shit out of one another.

Jake: "Jade, do you have any idea on what is going on?"

Jade: "Did you notice that there were a few pickpockets in Gree?"

Jake: "Yeah..."

Jade: "Every town in Delas represents a sin, and anything related to the sin is legal."

Jade points to a fight where some guy got 3 teeth punched out.

Jade: "Fights are legal here since Wraith represents Wrath."

Jake: "Okay, I get the picture."

As the 4 finally come up to the inn Ruby is slammed into the ground by a few thugs, and makes a deep gash in her right arm.

Thug 1: "What are you doing about that?"

Thug 2: "What the boss said."

Thug 3: "Fight back?"

Ruby stands and tries to get a punch in, but Jade stops her.

Jade: "You leave her out of your bullshit."

Thug 2: "What about it?"

Jade sends out a devastating right hook, snapping the fucker's jaw and knocking him out.

Thug 3: "(picking up friend) Boss, that girl ain't normal."

Thug 1: "So what, he has a glass jaw."

Jay hears the fight.

Jay: "Picking fights without me?"

Jade: "Just get Ruby inside before I sock you too."

Jay: "Wrong buttons again? Anyways I'll grab her."

Jay helps Ruby off of the ground.

Jay: "Just be sure that you don't punch a hole in the wall."

Jay walks inside.

Thug 1: "Boyfriend?"

Jade: "No, just more fuel for this."

Jade uppercuts the guy so hard, the guy is smashed against the wall with a few cracks.

Thug 3 attempts to run.

Jade: "Just take these bastards and go. And remember this, if you fuck around my sis, this will get a lot worse for you.

Thug 3 picks up the other two and runs like he means it.

Jade: "Looks like he's got the message."

Jade walks inside.

Ruby: "You know you don't have to do that every time."

Jade: "Even if that is okay with the law here, I will always take care of that."

Jake: "Now, I took care of the gash in her arm."

Jade: "(takes a deep breath) Thank you."

Jay: "As you guys were talking, I got a room."

Jade: "Good to know you can think of something other than pissing me off."

Jake: "I just want to ask, have you always been doing this?"

Jade: "Yeah, Ruby has always been the softer of the two of us."

Ruby: "NO!"

Jade: "Yeah, you have, no one cuts that easily but you."

Jake: "I get it. (mumbling) I wish I was more like that."

Jade: "Say something?"

Jake: "I said I wish I was more like that."

Jade: "Why?"

Jake: "My little brother was the one who did that for me. Embarrassing?"

Jade: "Wait, you have a brother?"

Jake: "Yep."

Jade: "Never would've expected that."

Jake has a moment of silence.

Jake: "He is part of the reason I am standing here now."

Jay: "(opens door) You never mentioned much about that brother of yours."

Jake: "He is all I have left, and that is all I need to fight."

Jade: "Why isn't he here then?"

Jake: "First off, he can't tap into his energy properly and I have more experience with Impurities."

Jade: "Annoying too?"

Jake: "That too."

Ruby: "Can we stop talking about siblings and get some sleep?!"

Jay: "I agree, dibs on top bunk."

Jade: "Alright, night."

Jake: "(climbing into bed) Night."
