[THE END OF STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI]

I had shut the door to the Millennium Falcon and shut off the connection between Ben and I. It was painful and despite his poor character and everything he had done to hurt everyone. To hurt me. To destroy the rebellion. I still believed that I could save him. I had to for Han. Instead of letting these sad and dark thoughts roam through my eyes I instead focused on the positive. Finn was safe, the resistance had been saved. I turned around to meet Finn but was met with a different man. 

"Hi I'm Poe Dameron" he said and held his hand out.

I had recognised him as BB-8's former master. BB-8 had only said kind things about him. 

"Im Rey it's nice to meet you" I said and shake his hand. 

He explained what had happened while I was on the star destroyer. I couldn't believe that Finn was on the star destroyer the same time I was. I knew that it wasn't a possibility but I hoped that he did not see me fight with Kylo Ren. I looked towards Finn to see him placing a blanket over a unusual girl. I was happy for him. I was glad that he had found someone who he truly held a deep connection with it was obvious I could see it in his eyes and the gentle way he treated the girl. I smiled to myself allowing my emotions to flow freely throughout my body and make me feel happy. I was however still connected to Ben and all I could feel was his emotions. His anger his pain and his disappointment. He was disappointed that I didn't change sides. He is disappointed that I did not join him. I had realised that while I was spacing out Poe had been speaking to me.

"- so what do you say?" He finished his sentence.

I could tell his character. Obnoxious, hot headed but kind and filled with a strong fighting spirit like my own. He had an enthusiastic and positive energy around him that seemed to draw people to him and make them feel comfortable. I could tell that he was a natural leader and had a strong belief and defensiveness for Leia and the rebellion. I did not want to seem rude so I agreed to whatever I was agreeing too. 

"Yes that sounds good" I said keeping my dialogue short as too not give away the fact that I had no idea what he was talking about.

"Great so I'll tell Finn that we will see you at lunch" He said and turned around to walk away. 

I let out a sigh of relief and watched as he turned back around after a few steps.

"We are meeting in the lunch room at 12:00 the normal time we usually have lunch. We will save you a seat" He said in a bright and cheerful tone.

"That sounds perfect" I responded enthusiastically as he walked further down the corridor. Just as I was about to turn around and resume my thoughts Poe shouted out to me. 

"Rey! Don't worry about spacing out. It happens to the best of us" He chuckles and walks away.

I feel absolutely embarrassed knowing that he had realised that I had not been listening and walked towards the bathrooms with my head hung low in embarrassment. 

After cleaning myself up I decided to go to the lunchroom to meet the group. I was surprised to see just how well Chewie had done with creating a eating area and a mini cafeteria. It was nothing special but it was good enough. I grabbed my plate of food and found the Poe sitting on a table with Finn and a girl I have not yet met sitting next to him. 

"Hello everyone" I greeted them and took the available seat next to Poe. 

"Hi I'm Rose" the girl waved to me. 

I introduced my self and instantly began to like Rose as she began the conversation. She was cheerful and very optimistic and positive. I could not get enough of her happy attitude and optimism. 

"So he was ready to get himself killed!" She yelled out and hit Finn on the shoulder causing him to groan.

"But luckily yours truly saved the day" She said with a smirk and triumphantly held her drink in the air. 

Everyone including myself began to laugh. She looked at us and began to pout.

"Why aren't you taking me seriously I saved him!" She sighed and sat down. Finn patted her on the head but that was not wiping the pout off her lips.

"Because you were dragged into the base by Finn. I know that you crashed his speeder with yours but that was honestly a stupid move" He laughed out.

"It was the only way he wasn't listening!" She blurted out.

I was getting very entertained with Rose and Poe's bickering. 

"Ok so maybe blowing up both our speeders in the middle of a battle field in front of the enemy was not my best idea" She said in a low tone which caused Poe to have a victorious smile on his face.

"BUT!" She yelled out "It saved both of our lives" She said and her mouth also formed a victorious smirk.

"When Finn dragged you into the Base he was huffing and puffing and would not shut up about how heavy you were" Poe said and could not stop himself from laughing.

"YOU WHAT!" I watched as Rose turned towards Finn. Her eyes filled with Rage. "I AM NOT HEAVY! ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT!" She yelled 

I watched as Finn slowly turned his head to Poe and I and mouthed 'Help Me'. Poe and I both shook our heads to afraid to act out against Rose. 

"No I would never call you fat" Finn answered in a shaky and fast voice. "It was just I was tired and we had just gotten out of a crash so you just seemed heav-" He did not get to finish his sentence because Rose yelled.

"IF YOU SAY THE H WORD ONE MORE TIME FINN" She said and brought her face closer to Finn's. We watched as Finn began to shake a little with fear while Poe and I held in our laughter.

"I AM AS LIGHT AND AS DELICATE AS A FLOWER!" She yelled and got out of her seat and walked towards the food and grabbed a bread roll. She sat back down and stuffed the roll into her mouth.

"A feather" She said with her voice muffled by the large amount of food in her mouth. She looked so adorable. She was tiny and her head was down because she was sad. Her mouth was filled with bread roll so her voice sounded funny.

"A feather" Finn agreed and patted her on the head replying in a defeated tone but with a smile on his face. I watched as her face quickly turned from a sad pout to her usual happy smile in a few seconds. I was surprised with the effect Finn had on her. I watched as Finn looked at her with admirable eyes and all I felt was a sense of jealousy but also happiness. I was glad my friend had found someone who made him happy. 

"Those two are love struck" I whispered to Poe earning a hefty laugh.

"Yes they are and it is annoying how much they showcase it" Poe said with a laugh.

"We will do as we want" Rose replied with her head held high and a smug look. Poe and I began to laugh realising that we were not that good at whispering.

"Plus love is just you know, love. Once you find it you can't help but showcase it. Touching them or even just hearing them laugh or making them smile. It's those little things that just make the relationship more than it is" She says while looking deep into Finn's eyes which were shinning with the same amount of Love as hers. 

"Plus if it is really love you won't be able to resist it" She chuckles breaking the romantic tension that was building between her and Finn that I seemed to not be able to come out of. I was deeply drawn into them. Watching them smile at each other. Looking at the love between them. Looking at real love.

"Well that was ridiculously cliche and a waste of my time" Poe stood up while laughing.

"Where are you going?" Finn asked 

"I'm just going to visit Leia and walk around. Rey you should get some rest" He said with a nod and a smile. Never had anyone really worried about me. 

"Y-yeah good idea" I was just able to stumble the words out of my mouth.

"Why don't you finish eating though" Rose asked

"Because you both ruined my appetite with your sick lovey perfectness" Poe jokes and walks away.

Lunch soon ends and I decide to take Poe up on his advice. As I fell asleep I couldn't help but smile at the feeling of new friends. Of a new family and home.
