The Pain From My Demons

I try to drown my demons

But they know how to swim

I try to cut my demons

But they live within

I try to poison my demons

But they drink it with glee

I try to hurt my demons

But I only hurt me

I try to hang my demons

But they don’t need to breathe

I try to starve my demons

But they just feed off me

I try burn my demons

But they love the flame

I try to stop my demons

But all I get is pain
