I try to rest a little
As the world around me fades
I’m surprised yet somewhat glad
That I’ve lived another day
I know you're waiting for me
To join you in peace
But until I win this battle
I’ll never be at ease
Around me there are noises
But from among the din
A single voice is stronger;
The voice from within
It knows I can't give up
And listen to the lies
It shows me where to go
It opens my eyes
The enemies are numerous
But I’m the only me
Time can only tell
How long my life will be
I may be with you soon
And then I’ll finally rest
But not now; I won't give in
As long as I draw breath
