I walked with Eddie downstairs to a large dining room. There, sat Edward, Nancy, Edward's father (whose name is Nicolas), Edmund, another woman, and a baby in Nancy's arms.
"Nicolette, this is Nina." The baby, Nina giggled and moved her chubby baby arms around. The woman next to Nicolas looked at me in shock before whispering.
"Nancy, why don't you bring the baby to me?" Nicolas ripped Nina out of her mother's arms, but not even two seconds later, she started to cry. The woman started to soothe Nina but nothing worked.
"It's alright, Nina. It's grandpa!" Nancy tried calming her down. I made a crystal baby rattle appear. I shook it to make sure she heard the bells. Once she calmed down, she reached out to take the rattle.
"Here you go." I hand her the rattle. She gladly took it and shakes it to hear the bells.
"Don't give her that." Nicolas hissed.
"And why not? She clearly doesn't want to be in your arms." He looked taken back.
"And how would you know?" He snapped.
"Well, I think I might have more experience with children then you do." I hissed back and took Nina from him arms. She stopped crying and played with the crystal baby rattle.Stars shining bright above you

I sang softly to her. She giggled and laid her head on my shoulder. The woman walked over to me with a smile.
"Hello." She said. I looked at her in suspicion, I don't know who she is.
"Hi." I said skeptically.
"Dinner is ready." The chief said. I handed Nina back to Nancy and sat down next to Eddie. The woman sat beside Nicolas.
"So, how's Perri?" I asked him, Eddie blushed and gave me a shut up look.
"He's fine, I guess. He..." Eddie trailed off, a servant placed a plate in front off me. Once he left, Eddie continued. "He seems distant these past few days."
"How so?" I asked, I grabbed a napkin and placing it on my lap cause I ain't trying to spill food on this dress.
"He had a black eye just yesterday. When I asked him about it, he told me to ignore it."
"What are you two whispering about?" Edward asks.
"Nothing." Eddie and I answer in sync.
"Just that, Nicolette is dating Gavin." Eddie lies, that little rat!
"Eddie!" I said.
"Giselle and Robert's son? Well, he's a nice lad." Edward commented.
Nicolas muttered something that no one heard.
"What was that, honey?" The woman said, putting her hand on top of his.
"I said, she not good enough for him, look at her." They all looked my way.
"And what's wrong with the way I looked?" I challenged, he would have answered but Edward beat him to it.
"Oh Nicolette, I forgot. This is Susan, our step-mother." The woman, Susan sent me a smile, but I didn't smile back.
"See what did I say? She's a rude little girl, spoiled by her villainous mother. The only thing that Narissa has ever done right is leaving and taking you with her." I threw my napkin roughly onto my plate and stood. I've had enough.
"I'm not going to stay and be insulated! You do not insult my mother, at least she didn't give up on me!" I turned to walk away, but he continued.
"Yes go! You were not wanted here! You should have stayed on the island with your wretched mother!" I looked at him and glared.
"It's people like you that make my people turn evil. You don't give us a chance to redeem ourselves, the only person that gave us that chance was Prince Ben. Maybe you should be the one on that island, not us!" I shouted. The whole room was silent, even the baby quiet down.
"I'm going home." I muttered, quickly I ran out.
"That was uncalled for grandpa." I heard Eddie said. I grabbed my jacket from the butler.
"Nicolette, where are you going?" Eddie asked, I looked at him and glared.
"I'm going back to Auradon." I hissed.
"It's night already, it'll be a long drive back." He responds, I sighed.
"Then I'll teleport or something, if my mother was able to do it then I can too." I said, but he shook his head.
"Just stay the night and tomorrow I will take you back. Deal?" He held his hand out. I shrugged and took his hand.
"Deal." He smiled before leading me back to my new room. Once he left me alone, I looked around for something to tie together. I grabbed some blanket and dropped them on the center of the bed.
"Now I need a spell." I muttered, until the light bulb in my head, turn on. I pointed at the blanket.
Let's not make this trip any sadder,
Take these blankets and make a rope ladder.I flicked my finger and the blanket turned into a rope ladder long enough for me, since I was on the second floor. Suddenly I heard footsteps outside the door and quickly hid the ladder under the bed and pretend to be asleep. The door opened and I could hear footsteps approaching.
"Maybe bring her here wasn't such a good idea, if I knew dad was gonna react this way I wouldn't have made her go through that." I heard Edward's voice.
"It's not your fault, your father shouldn't have yelled at her like that. Nicolette is just a good girl, she's been through a lot." This time I heard Nancy.
"I only think of her well-being. Let's go before we wake her up." A blanket was put on me, before the footsteps exited the room. I laid there for a bit, before getting up and tossing the covers off.
