I wake up with swollen eyes- I must have fallen asleep crying- I rub the sleep away as I grab a towel to take a shower. I turn the water on and let it warm up while I get undressed; I let the water massage my back and relax my muscles. After a while, I turn off the water and dry my body before putting on a white dress and letting my hair fall in its natural beach waves.
I put on my shoes and walk out of the room, stumbling into Adrien.
"Oh, good morning Iris." He awkwardly scratches the back of his neck.
"Good morning, Adrien." I bow.
"My father wanted me to take you shopping for more clothes. Since you are supposed to, I guess, blend in." He gestures toward my dress.
I wanted to argue, but I know Mr. Agreste means well, so I nod and return to my room to change. I slip on this:
And leave the room. I catch Adrien staring at me.
"Would this suffice?" I ask.
"Uh," he blushes, "y-yeah."
We got downstairs and get in the limo. Wherever he's taking us, I can't be standing out. We go to a clothing store-type thing, I look at the shirts, and I find some cute outfits; Adrien helps me with the shoes and pants- honestly, it's nice having him around to help me with all of this. By the time we finish shopping for me, it's almost nightfall and according to Adrien, we have school tomorrow.
We rush home and I set my bags in my room before turning to Adrien.
"Thank you, for today. I appreciate it and I appreciate you," I smile brightly and hug him.
"Y-you're welcome, Iris." He blushes again.
After dinner, we head to bed, saying our goodnights, and prepare for the next day. Today has been quite an adventure for me. Paris has things my home in Egypt doesn't have, like malls, movie theatres, and parks. There's so much to explore, I think I will ask Adrien if he can give me a tour around Paris.
-time skip brought to you by the Eiffel Tower-
I wake up to my new alarm clock on my nightstand; I pick out an outfit for school:
I hurry to get ready and make sure I have my tablet for school. I'm so nervous about being in a public school. I calm my nerves before meeting Adrien downstairs for breakfast: oatmeal with strawberries. We eat in silence and walk to the limo; Adrien opens the door for me and I climb in before he does. After a few minutes, he finally speaks."Are you nervous?" He glances at my calm façade.
"Yes, I cannot lie, I'm very nervous, what if I say something stupid or do something that'll embarrass me?" I spill out.
He grips my hand in his, "you'll be fine, my father made sure to put you in all my classes, my friend, Nino is gonna be upset because you're gonna be sitting in his seat but he'll live." He chuckles.
I giggle with him. "You're right, thank you. " I lean in quickly, pecking his cheek.
His cheeks heat up with red. I giggle as we reach our destination. Gorilla opens the door for me, helping me out of the car, and closes it after Adrien is out. It seems as if everyone is staring at me. Is something on my face? My heart races and Adrien grabs my hand, squeezing it, reassuring me.
I breathe in and out as we walk up to a group of people. Two girls, one with blue pigtails and another with wavy hair and observant eyes, and a boy with these things around his neck and glasses. Adrien fist bumps him and starts talking, still holding my hand tightly.
"Hey, dudette. I'm Nino."
What the heck is a dudette?
"I'm Iris," I smile.
Adrien squeezes my hand and I suppose Nino had seen what he did because he whispers to Adrien, and he nods at Nino.
"Nice. Well, we better get to class." Nino waves at us.
I wave at him as he ascends the stairs; the two girls walk up to us.
"Hey, Adrien." The girl with glasses greets.
"Hey, Alya. Hi, Marinette."
The blue-haired girl glares at me. "H-hi, A-Adrien." She shyly grins at him, stuttering.
"So, are you two together? And who is she?" Alya notes the hand-holding.
"Yes, we are, and her name is Iris. She's a transfer student. I met her a few years ago and we started dating a few months before she moved here." He lies so smoothly.
I nod. "It's nice to meet you."
"Where are you from?" The girl named Marinette continues to glare at me.
"I don't wish to disclose that information to you," I say coldly.
She huffs and walks away. What is her problem with me?
"Don't worry about her, Iris, she's just jealous you're with Adrien and he's not with her," Alya says clearing up my thoughts. " She'll get over it eventually." She grins and walks to the building.
Adrien and I ascend the stairs with everyone's eyes on us. There seem to be some friendly faces here.
"Adrikins!" An annoying girly voice rings through my ears.
