~Iris's POV~
"Marry me." He blurts out.
My eyes widen at his proposal; speechless, I look back at my father's sarcophagus, and I lay a hand on it.
"My father would've liked you, Adrien," I whisper. "He would've been very happy for me to find a love like this." I smile.
"Iris, you can't change the past. And I'm sure my mom would've liked you, too." His arms wrap around my waist, and his lips kiss my neck once.
Maybe I've been so lost in the past, I didn't see what the future would hold for Adrien and me. And he's right, I can't change the past. But, maybe I change the future for the better.
"Let's go home, babe." He suggests.
I slowly nod and begin to follow him out of the room. I blow the burning flame out and walk to Adrien, and out of the tunnels.
His fingers entwine with mine as we walk to his house. It's dinner time, so we go to the dining room; there we are greeted by Adrien's father. Once he sees us, he rushes toward us and pulls both of us into a crushing hug.
"I thought I lost both of you," Mr. Agreste looks at me and then at Adrien. "Both of you are very precious to me." He hugs us again before we get seated for dinner.
How long was I gone?
"Father, I'd like to be homeschooled with Iris." Adrien requests.
"Are you sure?" He asks me.
I nod. "Yes, I am."
"Very well, I will call the school tomorrow and have preparations made." He continues to eat his food.
I finish my portions and go to my room; my balcony door is open-just like I left it- so I got out there and lean against the railing. I feel Adrien behind me, watching me as I look up at the midnight blue sky.
"Were you serious?" I asked without turning around.
"Serious about what, baby?" He stands next to me.
"When you asked me to marry you. Were you serious?" I don't look at him.
"Yes, I was, and still am serious about that." He grabs my hand, "Iris, I want to marry you when we're done with school. I want to protect you, I want to always be there for you when you need me. I don't want to ever lose you." He gently kisses my hand.
No one has ever said that to me. Is it possible I've found my soul mate already? Well technically, I'm supposed to be married when I turn 17. And since my parents are deceased, I would be taking the throne as Queen and Adrien as my King.
I smile. "You know, in my country, I'm supposed to be married by the time I turn 17. And even though I'm in your country, I'll still have to go back. Someone is going to have rule my kingdom, and I'm their princess. So, I'll have to take the responsibility of being Queen."
His green eyes sparkle in the moonlight. What is he up to?
*time skip brought to you by Chat Noir's puns* *6 months later*
Adrien and I finish our lessons for today, and so we can relax a bit. That is until a crash and screaming are heard outside.
"Fang, tail out!" "Plagg, claws out!"
We transform into our alter egos and rush to the scene. Canines everywhere! What is going on here? A large dog stalks toward us. Chat Noir wraps his arm around my waist and uses his baton to take us to higher ground.
"Ugh, they're so noisy." He comments, covering his ears.
I unsheathe my sword and swing it, causing a gust of wind right down the middle of the pack. They're all knocked out, I jump down to ground level along with Chat Noir; I growl when I see Ladybug in the jaws of the akumatized villain. I run to the large canine, and butt its head with the handle of my sword. I can feel my canine teeth grow sharp and my nails turn into sharp claws. I put my sword back in its place at my hip and I turn toward Chat Noir.
"Get Ladybug out of here, I can handle this," I growl.
He picks her up and takes her to the roof. I have no reasoning left in me, I attack the beast with my claws, scratching its shoulder badly. Blood leaks onto the floor. It turns around and lunges at me. I snarl and bare my teeth at it, ready to counterattack. My hold on him is tight around its neck, as it thrashes around; its claws catch my cheek, but that doesn't stop me from defeating this thing.
*after the fight*
The canine lays unconscious, as I stand tall with victory. I hear footsteps behind me, I growl and turn to attack. Adrien's eyes are wide.
"Iris, calm down. It's okay now. No one's gonna hurt you, I promise." He walks toward me with caution.
The realization hits me and I back away. I look down at my hands, they're covered in blood. I dash away from the scene and get away from Adrien.
What is wrong with me? What have I turned into?
I find a dark alleyway and hide there, I cry and cry; I try to think of what happened to me. Is it part of the transformation?
What have I done?...
