~Iris's POV~

Today is the day that we go to Egypt with the class, myself as their guide--considering we will be going to my kingdom to learn more about Egypt's history and lineage. Adrien and I finish packing and getting ready for the trip. I slip on sweats and a sweatshirt--since we'll be taking the private jet and I can change into proper attire. My bodyguard takes my luggage and loads it onto the plane alone with Adrien's. Everyone else is on the plane waiting for us.

I take the necessary items on the jet and go to the back, private room to get ready for the upcoming busy schedule I will have. Not just as the class's guide but also as Princess. I get ready in this:

And I join the others in the common area. I see Chloe flirting with Adrien and I glare at her. I notice that Marinette is here as well, sulking in the corner.

"Alright everyone, listen up, Iris is going to go over a few important details before we land." The teacher announces.

I clear my throat. "Okay, well, first things first, Chloe, just because you are the mayor's daughter in Paris that doesn't mean you're royalty in my kingdom. So, don't order my servants around. Also, if my people stare at you, it is because they've never seen outsiders before Adrien came with me the first time. Lastly, not only will I be your guide, but I also have pressing matters to take care of as Princess. So, if I'm not able to get to your questions immediately, it's because of meetings or arrangements. Please, be considerate of my people and my culture. Respect how we dress and talk. Also, when we get to my palace, all of you will need to dress in the clothing provided by my servants. Each of you will have your own room except for Adrien. He will be staying in mine."

"That's not fair." Chloe starts to complain.

"Well, you're in my kingdom now, Bourgeois. So behave yourself." I snarl.

Max raises his hand. "Why are you dress like you're going to a funeral?"

"Max." Kim scolds him.

"It's okay, I will answer. I am going to a funeral. Today is the anniversary of my family's death. A very important day for me and my family." I whisper at the end. "So I may be absent most of today." I put on my cloak and sit down as we begin to land.

Everyone gets off before me, I take a deep breath and step down the stairs to Adrien and the Priest--who is smiling brightly at me. I take Adrien's hand and hug my uncle with the other arm. We go to the platform and I get on with Adrien.

"Where's our carriage thingy?" Chloe complains again.

"Chloe, this is only for Royals. Remember, you don't get special treatment. The reason why Adrien is with her in here is because he's known as her lover to her people." Alya retorts.

I smile and keep my eyes forward. We walk through the main village and men, women, and children bow as my platform goes by them. I see a young boy taking an apple from a stand without paying, the owner is about to cut off the lad's hand. He reminds me of Atemu. I slide off the platform and run to the man. I catch his hand and take his sword.

"In the name of the Princess you shall not harm this young boy any longer, you hear?" The Priest states as I wrap my arms around his body protectively.

I look at the boy, "what is your name?"

His golden eyes contrast to his dirty tan skin. "Malik, your highness." He bows.

"No need for that, Malik. Where are your parents?"

Tears start to stain his dirty covered cheeks. "Momma and papa died when I was young." He rubs his eyes.

I catch a falling tear, "how about you come back to the palace with me? You can live there with me. How does that sound, Malik?"

His face becomes so bright and cheery, "thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" He hugs me and I hug him.

Whispers can be heard and I grab the lad's hand and escort him back to the platform with Adrien. We continue our journey to the palace; as soon as we stop, Malik jumps off of me and runs up the stairs, and waits for us.

I giggle. "He reminds me so much of my brother." I look up at the sky.

Oh, Atem, if only you could see this.

While everyone is getting settled and Malik gets a proper bath, I go to the throne room and kneel before my father's throne.

"Father, how I miss you. I know you would've been proud of me. I'm doing my best to be the Queen they wanted to be, but, it feels as if I have more responsibility than Mother has had. Some days, I doubt myself that I'll ever be ready to rule the Southern Territory. Adrien thinks I'll be a wonderful Queen. So do my friends. Even Uncle believes in me; even though everyone else believes in me, I cannot. I know you've wanted me to marry royal blood from another Territory, but I want to marry out of love, like you and Mother. I think you would've approved of Adrien. He treats me well, is always there for me, makes me laugh, and reminds me that I'm strong. And that my people deserve a strong Queen. And, that I shall be one day, Father. I will continue on your legacy, and make the family name proud." Tears fog my vision as I stand.

I walk out of the room and go to the garden, seeing that everyone is here, I wall over to Adrien and he lightly kisses my forehead.

"Princess Iris, tell us about your kingdom." The teacher suggests.

I nod, "Very well." I begin the story of my ancestors. "Everyone knows the story of Queen Cleopatra and Antony. But no one knows the story of King Adom and his secret lover. King Adom was a powerful ruler of Egypt. The people loved him, and he loved his people. He was a kind, gentle man, who also fell in love with a maiden. She was a thief, a criminal. She was widely known as the Thief Queen. After she attempted to assassinate Adom, he forced her to be his personal servant. She was always chained, so she couldn't harm the young king. After a while, he and the Thief Queen fell in love. And made a peace treaty." I pause. "But, he couldn't marry her. So, he was arranged to marry a maiden of royal blood, but he didn't love the maiden. He  vowed to his lover to he would see her in the afterlife, then on his wedding day, he sacrificed himself to the gods and prayed that his soul would find hers."

I end the story, Malik is in Adrien's lap and his amber eyes wide and in awe. He claps happily.

"More, more!" He giggles.

I chuckled and pet his head. "Another time, young one." I smile and stand up.

"Dinner is ready, your majesty." A male servant announces.

"Thank you." I acknowledge him and lead the group to the dining hall.

Food of all sorts is layed out; we all take a seat and start to talk amping ourselves. Adrien and Malik are next to me so I talk to Adrien and joke around with the young boy.

Suddenly, an arrow flies out of nowhere.
