~Iris's POV~
We get to the venue for our photoshoot, a large warehouse; bright lights cast an eerie shadow in the deep corners of the fairly large room. Adrien and I get to our dressing rooms, and in mine, I notice a beautiful blue gown with the tag "PROM" on it. I smile, prom is around the corner and Adrien has already planned on having me go as his date.
Next to it is a gorgeous baby blue gown. I put it on.
The dress sticks to my curves and accents them, I put a loose strand of hair behind my ear as I walk out of my dressing room; Adrien awaits in a tuxedo, with a sheepish grin on his face. He kisses my hand and guides me to the backdrop."You look beautiful," He whispers as the photographer snaps a few photos.
I blush and look away from his hypnotizing green eyes. "Thank you," I whisper back.
*after the photoshoot*
We come home, I automatically go to my room and put the dress labeled "PROM" in my closet. My phone vibrates on my desk; I pick it up to see an invite to a party. Chloe Bourgeois's birthday party specifically. I groan and decide to text Adrien.
Are you going to Chloe's party? -I
Father is making me go... -A
Oh, okay.-I
Well, since Adrien is going, I know I have to go as well. I refuse to have Chloe have her way with my boyfriend, I simply won't allow it. I drop my phone onto my bed and go into my closet. Fang flies around, following me and seeing what I am doing.
"What are you doing, Iris?" He asks.
I go through my best clothes, I got to look stunning for Adrien.
"I'm going to a party tonight with Adrien. It's Chloe Bourgeois's." I decide to wear this.
After I get ready, I text Adrien. Are you ready to go?-I
I wait a few minutes.
Are you going too??-A
Yes, someone's going to have to make sure Chloe stays in her place.-I
I giggle and put my phone in my back pocket, and I grab a jacket and hurriedly go to get Adrien so we can go.
"Wow, Iris, you look stunning." He blushes.
Well, that's my goal, duh. I giggle. "Thank you, are you ready to go?"
He nods and we walk to Chloe's place. When we step into the foyer, I grip Adrien's hand; he kisses my cheek. I smile at him, and he pulls me to a table with Nino and Alya.
"Wow, girl, you look great!" Alya exclaims.
"Thank you." I hold onto Adrien's hand tighter.
"Adrikins! You made it!" A bleach-blond runs to Adrien. "Did you get me anything for my birthday?" She bats her annoying blue eyes.
I roll mine.
"Sorry, Chloe I didn't have time to buy you anything. I've been in Egypt with Iris and we had a photo shoot today and we barely got home when we got your invite."
She looks disappointed. Good.
"You were in Egypt? And you didn't take mwuah?"
I speak up. "I brought Adrien to see my country. Plus, he wanted to go, and I had some royal business to tend to anyways."
She rolls her eyes. "Whatever, Adrikins come dance with me." She starts to pull him toward her.
I pull him back to me. "How about not. I don't want you touching what's mine, Chloe." I protectively put my arm around his waist.
She growls. "Today is my birthday, and what I say goes. And Adrien will dance with me." She boldly steps forward.
I laugh, feeling myself transform. I look at Chloe and narrow my eyes. "Well, he's not going to dance with you. You forget that I'm the princess of the Egyptian Southern Territory. And what I say goes, Bourgeois. So, with that said, leave my boyfriend alone." I snarl.
She doesn't budge, and soon a hand comes flying toward me. I feel the impact on my left cheek. I look back at Chloe and she's in shock. It wasn't her?
"M-Marinette?" Adrien looks at the blue-haired girl in sheer shock.
"You took Adrien from me!" She screams at me. "You're no princess, you're a thief!" Tears stream down her face.
"Marinette, what do you think you are doing?" Alya holds her back.
"Everything was perfect before SHE arrived and stole Adrien from me!" She screams some more. "I want her gone!"
My eyes widen. I didn't realize that was how she felt about me...
I walk away and out of the building as I transform back to my usual self. I continue to walk till I was at the Eiffel Tower. I open the door on the leg and walk down the dark stairwell.
I got through the tunnels, having been consumed by my thoughts. If Marinette wants me gone so badly then so be it, I won't ever show my face around Paris again. I sigh. It hasn't even been a full day since I came back here and already, I want to go home.
~Adrien's POV~
I watch as Iris leaves, in anger, I turn toward Marinette.
"I don't have any feelings for you, Marinette. I only want Iris. I love her, and only her." I turn away and begin to try to find my girlfriend. I see her going down the stairs in the leg of the Eiffel Tower; I hurry and follow her. I call out her name several times as I run closer to her.
"Iris! Iris!" I yell. "Iris!"
She turns a corner in the tunnels and stops. I stop a few yards away from her; we're in a different room now, a tomb of some sort.
"Here lies my parents and beloved brother, Atemu. They were assassinated in the throne room, my brother died in my arms, my father died holding my mother." She says with no emotion.
"Iris-"
"I promised Atem that I'll join him in the afterlife." she pauses.
"What are you-"
"I don't belong here, Adrien. There's no place for a Royal here in Paris. Your government is long past monarchy. My kingdom isn't. I need to be with my people, my kingdom. And you," she turns around, "you need to accept the fact that I need to leave. Without you."
She caresses my cheek, stroking away the stray tears.
"Iris, I don't want you to leave. Please stay with me. I'll ask my father to homeschool us, so you won't have to deal with Marinette or Chloe. We will always be together, every day" I plea.
"Adrien, I-"
"Marry me."
