The doors slam open, and a hooded girl and a hooded boy walk in, hiding their faces. My bodyguards take their stance in front of Adrien and me. I stand up and summon my Egyptian power. I transform and I stand with Adrien behind me; he grips my hand tightly.

"State your business," I say in a serious and firm voice.

The boy smiles. "No need for formalities, Princess. You already know why we're here." He removes his hood.

And the girl follows suit. Volpina and Shiki stand before me. I clench my teeth in anger; my hand turns into a fist, covered with ancient energy the color of white roses. I growl at the sight of Volpina and Shiki.

"What do you want?" I snarl.

Volpina laughs. " I want Adrien Agreste."

"I want you, Princess Iris." Shiki holds a dagger in his left hand.

I growl again, putting an arm around Adrien's waist. I glance back at him, his once green orbs are now covered by a black mask. He transformed while I wasn't paying attention to him, smart. I smile at him, knowing he's willing to fight for me as well as I fight for him.

Shiki waves his hand and the guards are knocked out against the walls; Adrien and I hold our ground, his baton ready to defend us. My ancient energy glows brighter beside me, blinding Volpina as she attempts to walk toward us. I jump and attack defensively, hitting her with all of my strength. She loses her balance and falls over to the ground.

My hand opens and the bright white light is brighter than ever, my palm faces her and within seconds, her memories are gone and she's disappeared. I turn around and see that Adrien is struggling to fight off Shiki; my blood starts to boil as I turn back to them.

I rip Shiki off and the dagger slices my bicep, making blood seep through my white jacket. Pain shoots throughout my arm, I stumble back and fall onto the floor.

~Adrien's POV~

Iris falls backward onto the floor, holding her wounded arm; anger flows through me like a strong river. I grab my baton and fight with Shiki again. But this time, I don't plan on losing.

*time skip after the fight*

After the guards take away a knocked-out Shiki, I run to Iris, hoping she's okay. I detransform and Plagg flies away to find Fang; I hold Iris in my arm as I stand up, going back to our room.

I lay her down and she detransforms, her arm has not stopped bleeding yet, so I tend to it. I find some stuff to wrap it up in and keep it from getting infected. I hold her as I wait patiently for her to wake up; Fang and Plagg finally show up, and Fang starts to examine Iris's wound.

"Has it stopped bleeding?" He asks.

"It didn't stop when I was cleaning it up," I shift a bit so I can see Iris's face more clearly.

"She'll be fine, Adrien, she just needs plenty of rest." His little grey ears pout, sad or maybe scared Iris will die.

I nod, caressing her face gently, memorizing her features. Her long hair framed her golden skin, her plump pink lips slightly open, the rosy tint on her cheeks. Everything about her is perfect.

I love you, Iris Ishtar. Please, come back to me.

~Iris's POV~

My father and mother stand before me surrounded by marvelous white light, they seem happy to see me. Am I dead?

My father chuckles, and it echoes slightly." No, my dear, you aren't dead. You are merely meeting the dead at the gate of the Afterlife."

My mother hugs me tightly. "My beautiful Iris, it isn't your time. You must go back."

"But, Mother, I want to be with you again." Tears fall slowly down my face.

A voice behind startles me. Atem??

"Sister, Adrien needs you. Your kingdom needs you, Paris needs you. When the gods think you are ready to come home with us, then that will be your time. But, right now isn't." His husky voice echoes.

He hugs me and whispers, "go to Adrien, Iris. He needs you more than ever," he smiles, "we will see you later on, sister."

They start to fade away and soon I'm consumed by darkness.

*3 days later*

I hear a small voice. It sounds so sad.
"What if she never wakes up, Plagg?"

Plagg? Adrien's kwami? Does that mean Adrien is here too?

I try to move to let them I'm here, I'm not dead. But, I don't succeed. So, I lay there and listen to their conversation.

"Fang, it'll be ok, Iris is strong, she can fight this."

Fang? Fang... I'm sorry, Fang...

Memories of Fang and I play in my mind like a movie. The first time we met, to us helping Ladybug and Chat Noir save Paris, and then to Fang and Plagg playing while Adrien and I watch them...

Wait, Adrien... Where is he?

I hear another voice. It sounds familiar.

"Iris, please wake up. I need you."

Adrien? He's here?

I want to hold his hand and kiss him again. Suddenly, with all of my strength and motivation, I force myself to wake up.

Gasping, I open my eyes slowly, trying to adjust to the afternoon light, and once my vision has focused, I see Adrien. His beautiful blond locks fell on his face, his rosy cheeks stained with the salty rivers.

Fang and Plagg are the first ones to notice my awakening. Finally, Adrien looks over and his dark emerald green eyes meet mine, I smile a small smile.

"I-Iris? You alive!" He throws his arms around me, "I thought I lost you for good this time." He cries into my neck.

"Silly kitty, I would never leave you," I pet his hair. "You're my world, Adrien. I can't imagine a life where you don't exist. I love you."
