Nikolai's POV
I laid across my cousin's bed watching closely as she went through her clothing items.
"This is ridiculous!" Brittany scoffed while tossing a pair of burgundy jeans to the side.
"Hey! I like those!" I said sitting up. "And that shirt you tossed isn't as bad as you think."
"You know what Nik, for someone to design amazing clothes as much as you do, you sure as hell can't dress yourself!"
"Really..."
"I've already got my outfit picked out for the show. And I think it's Prince approved."
"Prince approved?" I asked with a sarcastic tone. "You don't even know this man, or what he approves of. Let me see what you have put together."
Brittany went over to her closet and started pulling items out before laying them on her bed. "One more thing." She said grabbing a pair of black boots. "Now you can't even deny how fly this is."
I eyed her outfit closely thinking of what could be added.
"Say, I know it's an evening show but do you happen to have a pair of black sunglasses? For fashion purposes only of course".
She walked over to her vanity set pulling out a pair before setting them down by the outfit. "Perfect."
"Now I just have to get myself together. I haven't been to concert before.""Do you even know who is Prince is?"
"Are you being serious right now? Of course I know who Prince is, I mean who doesn't."
"Okay. But what I am really asking is are you familiar with his music?"
Pausing with a puzzled look on my face, I answered. "No."
"What the hell is up with you?!" Brittany asked as she threw her head back into laughter.
"It's not funny! I am just being honest."
"I don't understand how you're not familiar with the music. Wait wait, so do you even listen to George Michael? What about Billy Joel? Michael Jackson?"
"I know who all of those artists are ok? It's just, dad never wanted secular music played in the house."
"Melvin is really one big ass." Brittany rolled her eyes. "Didn't he also tell Tita Raquel not to dye her hair because it wasn't appropriate for a First Lady of the church?"
"He did."
"Oh well, enough about him. Tonight will be so exciting!" Brittany squealed while taking me by the arm and pulling me up. "I just love Prince's music!"
I gave an uneasy laugh while following Brittany into her closet.
"Now it's your turn. You're much more curvier than I am but, I think we can work something out."
