Nikolai's POV
"I still cannot believe you are working for Prince. PRINCE." Wendy said into the phone.
"I'm not sure if I truly believe it yet myself."
"And you're in California now? Ah you're so lucky. Only a few weeks in and you're already traveling the world. Tell me, is he as fine as he is on tv?"
"Wennny." I whined quickly into the phone. "I am not going there."
"Nik just answer the question!"
I inhaled sharply before exhaling loudly so she could hear the annoyance.
"He's finer. Too fine actually."
"Ahhhhh!! Yesss... YES!!!" She screamed into the phone while I quickly moved it away from my ear.
"Girl keep it down, I'm sure whoever's next door to me in this hotel can hear you."
"Get at him."
"Wendy if you don't.." I spoke but she cut me off.
"You've been to Paisley Park, seen any of the panties he has that ladies throw at him? I bet he collects them."
"Shut up Wendy that is disgusting. I haven't seen no panties and I told you once before, this will be strictly professional."
"Girl whatever you're crazy. Anyone would be all over him like white on rice."
"Not me. Mm mmm.." I shook my head. "Nope."
"Sure. Well I must go. Duties are calling, tell Prince I said what's up."
"Ok." I laughed a bit before hanging up. "Talk to you soon."
I placed the phone back and fell onto the soft pillow.
I don't think I've witnessed this much silence since my annual library trips.
As happy as I was to be given the opportunity of a lifetime, I found myself a bit homesick and I couldn't believe it.
It was summer vacation back home and everyone I knew was out doing God knows what. I missed my family, I missed Wendy, and I even missed my dad. But I had a job to do, it was what I wanted after all.
KNOCK, KNOCK!!
The knocking interrupted my thoughts before I hurried to the door. I stared through the peep hole before recognizing who it was and opening up.
"Hello Nik!" Jennifer said coming in.
"Just stopping by to inform you of some things. Tomorrow at seven, Prince is throwing a party down at the place he's renting in L.A. and he wants everyone to come, including you.""Cool. What should I wear? Is this formal or what?"
"Just wear a nice dress or something cute." She responded. "Nothing too casual like jeans or anything. He's not into that type of stuff."
Who on earth isn't into jeans...
"He doesn't like jeans?"
"Nope not at all. Also remember shooting starts on the 25th. You have to be on set just in case anything goes wrong with clothing. He wants to do a quick fitting check on the 24th too."
"I got ya." I smiled as she headed to leave out.
"If you need anything just give me a holler, my number is in the book on your nightstand. Get some good sleep and rest up. Nite nite!"
