Nikolai's POV

I laid in bed sobbing, feeling literally miserable. After everyone left, I didn't even have the energy to move.  Luckily, Prince carried me up to his apartment inside of Paisley and helped me into my nightie.

Usually during the night time, he was never in bed. He would be in the studio creating, but not this night. He stayed right by my side.

"I won't leave you." He spoke softly as he kissed my shoulder. With my back still to him, he pulled me into his arms, and we drifted off to sleep.

Morning rose and even though I couldn't see a hint of sun due to the curtains, I knew because Prince had quietly gotten up.

He remained inside of his bathroom for a bit before coming back to the bed. I could feel him staring as my eyes slowly opened.

"Baby? Please say something."

I opened my mouth to speak but no words could express the amount of pain I was feeling.

He came around to my side of the bed and looked at me. I had never seen him with such sadness in his eyes.

"I know that you are hurting. I'm so sorry that all of this has happened."

I looked up at him and quickly shut my eyes from the soreness due to excessive rubbing.

He sighed out and shook his head while adjusting the pimp rag covering his hair.

"I want you to talk to me, only when you're ready." He spoke as I stared at his bare back through a squint. "I'm going to go down and make you breakfast, something light I promise."

Easing his feet into a pair of black house slippers, he headed towards the door to exit.

"Prince."

He turned around quickly, throwing a spatula to the side.

"Baby. You scared me." He said as he rushed over. "I didn't even hear you come down."

"I know."

"I was going to bring your breakfast up to you. I can still do so if you like."

"No, no, down here is fine. I'll go have a seat now."

I sat down quietly after grabbing the jug of orange juice from the fridge.

"Made and served with love." Prince grinned as he placed the plate down. "I scrambled your eggs just the way you like, and cut a few strawberries on the side."

"Thank you. I'd like to talk now."

"I'm listening."

"I'm so sorry. For the way everything happened. The things he accused you of, please know that I or any of the rest don't feel that way. I'm just very embarrassed."

"Nikolai you have nothing to be sorry about. You don't have to feel embarrassed either, not with me. Your family did what any good family would've done."

"I just can't believe he's done all of this." I shook my head while placing the fork down. "Lying to us, to my mother, he has a child on the side for crying out loud! My whole entire life is a lie, how could he?"

"Ah don't say that.. You, your life, nothing about you is a lie. You are not your father, nor your father's mistakes."

I looked into his eyes before quickly covering my face.

"Sweet baby, please now don't you cry. I wish it was something I could do to help. If only I could just take your pain away."
