Married to the Game

Part 20

We arrived at the stadium.

B: "hey so I'll see you after the game." He said slowly letting my hand go. "Are you going to be ok?" I shook my head in agreement. "Just meet me outside the conference room." He kissed me and walked away. I walked into the stadium getting looks from, what felt like everyone, in the stadium. I walked down the row to sit next to Danielle. She smiled big when she saw me.

D: "bestie! Your preggers and didn't tell me?" She said in a low voice joking!

A: " HA HA really funny."

D: "no but really! How are you feeling?"

A: "I'm fine." She gave me a look like there was more to my story. "Well to be honest I'm really scared of Jessica. If she can do that and not feel any sympathy then she can do anything. I just feel so unprotected when I'm not with Blake."

D: "well trust me Blake will make sure you are protected no matter where you are." As she said that the lights went down and the teams were being introduced.

*halftime*

It was halftime and I was going to the restroom to use the bathroom.

D: " you want me to go with you?"

A: "no thanks I'll be fine." I got up and grabbed my purse. As I walked into the bathroom stall I heard a woman go into the stall next to me. When the door slammed I jumped a little as I finished my business. I opened the stall door and walked up to the sink to wash my hands. As I dried my hands under the automatic dryer the stall door next to mine opened and out came Jessica. My stomach flipped upside down and my hands flew to my mouth. She smiled and walked over to me.

J: "oh my goodness how ironic! Seeing you here is just what I needed to brighten my day. " she faked a smile and hugged me. I put my arms down to my side as she squeezed me. I could not make a scene there were other people in the bathroom so I went along. "How are you? I have not heard from you in a very long time."

A: "I'm great." I had to lie or else she we would feel pleasure in hitting me with a shovel.

J: "that's good! Well I hope your head is healing." She winked and turned around and exited the bathroom. I let out a soft sight of relief but I could still felt my stomach turning. I walked back into the arena with a shocked look on my face. As I sat down I made eye contact with Blake. I tried to smile quickly but his face changed to upset. I mouthed to him "I'm ok." He turned back to Doc so they could continue the game.

*after the game*

I was waiting where Blake told me to wait outside the press room. I sat there all alone just thinking. "Maybe I should go back home" "I don't feel safe at all" " I wish Blake didn't have to work all the time so he could be my security" "I'm so scared" as I drifted off into space I heard my name.

B: "Aubs! He baby." He said holding my hands and standing me up from the chair I was sitting in.

A: "hey." I sounded so ....dry and lifeless.

B: "what's wrong, I saw you during the game." I looked down at my Jordan's and back up at Blake with a tear streaming down my face.

A: "I'm scared blake. I saw her in the bathroom. She did this to me and I don't think she's done. Blake I have to see her at work and I can't stop her from coming here." He puts his arms around me and hugged me tight.

B: "baby I have to get you security."

A: "no Blake I think I'm going to go back home for a while."

B: "what are you talking about?"

A: "I think it would be safe for me to just go back home and stay with my parents for a few moths."

B: "are you serious Aubs. I can protect you."

A: "no you can't Blake. When your in practice or doing stuff for the team how are you going to protect me?"

B: "I don't know but I will." I shook my head and started walked toward the exit doors to our car. "Listen listen" he grabbed my arm spinning me around. "Let's get you security and see how it goes. I promise you with security with you you will be just fine and when I'm there security won't. Just try ok?" I agreed and he pulled me in for a kiss.

DJ: "my little love birds." Danielle hit DJ's chest as they walked past us.

Danielle: " call me tomorrow we will hang out while the boys travel" I shook my head and hugged her in agreement.
