You're Just In Time To Witness My First Breakdown

Two days later, two days filled with Alex following me around everywhere I went being as annoyingly attractive as possible, no. Not attractive. Damn it I've got to stop doing that, and I had had it. The stress due to the college coursework had piled on, and along with living with a fucking vampire, it had turned me into a moody bitch. Plus it being that 'special time of the month' defiantly didn't help things. It was ten o'clock on a Saturday morning and I was in one of those moods that if something bad happens, it'll be a bad day just in general. Seeing Alex leaning against the counter, looking like a sex god, made me want to kill him then and there. But seeing as all I had to arm myself was a spoon, which I was using to stir my tea, and he had strength approximately four hundred times my own, I though better of it.

"Hello." He greeted. I just scoffed while setting my tea down and I started putting away dishes. He stood next to me and brought his lips to my ear,

"You know, being mean isn't exactly going to make me fall for you, you know?" He whispered, sending goosebumps down my spine.

"I'm hoping you'll go away and give up because you are so not winning this bet." I responded while picking up a pot.

Suddenly I dropped the pot and it hit the floor with a very loud clang. I jumped out of my skin and almost spun around looking for him, luckily I cought myself but my heart was hammering.

"Nice one." He laughed, "and you know damn well that's not going to happen."

I received a text from Ashley. "I don't know Gaskarth, I think you're going soft." I replied, regaining my composure, "And Ashley just texted me with a list of things we need so I'll be going now." I said picking up my keys and slipping on some sandals.

"Not alone you're not." Alex said, jumping up to put on his jacket.

"Can't I go alone? I'm sick of your attitude." I whined.

"No chance. Let's go." He stated walking right out the door. He forced me to let him drive. Literally. He actually forced me to sit in the passenger seat. I sighed when we entered the Target. I looked down at my list.

Paper Napkins

Coffee Mug (Sorry I dropped one)

Frozen Pizzas (Preferably cheese but do whatever you want)

Batteries

Makeup Remover

XXL MAGNUM CONDOMS (haha jk)

I smiled at her sense of humor; Alex peered over my shoulder and started laughing too.

"You know she and Jack would really get along." He said still chuckling. I nodded with a smile and took a basket. After getting the paper napkins, Coffee mug, two frozen cheese pizzas, and Batteries, we headed to the make up section. After acquiring the make up remover, I came across Alex looking absoultly dumbfounded at all the shades of foundation.

"Fucking hell" he whispered. I giggled at his reaction to it all. "How do you fucking know which one to get?" He asked, his eyes wide. I laughed again at his cluelessness. "I mean damn, there has got to be at least seventy different ones here. He looked over to the powder foundation which was right next to the liquid foundation. "I don't even know what this is. What the hell is 'Powder Foundation?" He asked picking up a container of the stuff. "What's the difference between this and that," He motioned to the liquid foundation, "Why would you get this and not that? Or that and not this? Why is this foundation bullshit it in two different fucking forms!" He nearly yelled. I couldn't contain my laughter. The look of pure confusion on the guy's face was too much to handle.

"Come on knuckle head." I said, taking his hand and pulling him out of the makeup section before he hurt himself. While waiting for a women to unload her many, many cans of cat food onto the canvayer belt, I looked at all the people surrounding us. Just simply people watching, when I saw him. It was only for a slit second, but I did see him. Memories hit me like a title wave. The place where my scar was held phantom pain. I felt my breathing quicken.

He is here. He is watching me. Don't fall apart in front of Alex, don't you dare.

I tried calming down but I felt the panic attack and I knew it was coming.

"Whoa Jess, are you okay?" Alex asked, putting a hand on my arm, I flinched at the contact.

"I'll be right back." I mumbled before racing off to the bathroom. It was probably pretty stupid since the safest place for me would've been in a crowd but I couldn't let Alex see me break down. I bolted into the bathrooms, after checking all the stalls and finding out I was alone, I barred the door shut. Not like that could stop him but it made me feel a bit better. I took a second to breath but I could feel the tears coming. My chest felt like it was being crushed into a tiny ball and my stomach was flipping at four hundred miles per second. The world started spinning and I collapsed onto the ground. I tried to focus on my breathing, but flashes of him came across my eyes causing hyperventilation. I pushed myself up and brought my knees to my chest. I was breathing at an incredible pace and my hands found their way to my hair. After about ten seconds of this I heard a bang at the door. This just caused me to freak out even more. After two seconds, the door was busted off it's hinges. Alex stood there looking around. His eyes met me on the ground and he rushed up to me.

"Hey, hey it's okay. It's okay shh." He said, placing his hands on my knees. "Just breath okay? You're fine. Come on Jess in and out. In, out, in, out, you're safe. Everything is okay, in, and then out. You are perfectly safe." Eventually I calmed down. He helped me off the floor.

"What was that about?" He asked softly. Embarrassed, I hid behind my hair.

He told me I was safe.

I shook the thought from my head. "Thought I saw someone." I mumbled before picking up the bag that Alex must've dropped and walking to the car. But I didn't think. I knew. I knew, and he had found me.
