I was in the kitchen making myself a drink. I wondered if I should ask Jess if she wanted one. She's been kind of distent lately, I decided to leave her be. I brought the drink to my lips, right before I took a sip, there was a bang outside. I set it down and stepped out. Nothing.
"Who's there?" I called into the darkness. No answer. I walked out further into the yard. It was quiet, too quiet..
"Hello Alexander." Said a cool voice behind me. That voice...At first I couldn't place it, but the the realization struck me. Maclom.
"Malcom. What are you doing here?" I asked, not turning to face him. Instead I focused on a bush ahead of me.
"Why do I need an excuse to visit my favorite vampire?" He hissed tauntingly.
"Well since I havent seen you since-"
"Since the night I turned you. Now that was a very interesting night."
"You killed my family." I stated, trying to hide the tremor in my voice.
"I did. I can't help but feel sorry. It was nothing personal, I had to make a point. Something you're quite good at making might I add." He chimed. I didn't answer. He then stepped quietly into my feild of vision and in front of me. I allowed myself to stare right into his eyes. The man was a snake. That's the best way to put it. His extreamly pale skin, almost so pale you could see through it, his white shouldier length hair, his black cloathing, even his eyes, which were yellow, with the tinyest tint of red. The man just looked like the human version of the creature. Normally I would've feared on Jess's behalf but as long as she was inside, she was safe.
"So what have you been up to?" Malcome asked icely, circling me.
"I've been on this diet and excersize plan, it's really working. Makes me feel two hundred years younger." I replied.
"You haven't changed at all." Malcome laughed, "Still the bold, reckless idiot you were the night I found you."
"Long live the reckless and the brave." I said, venom clear in my voice.
"Hm quite. But I digress, you were right when you concluded that I need something from you."
"Whatever it is, you can't have it." I said sharply.
"Well I suppose I could've worded that better, I don't need something from you, I need you to do something for me."
"No."
"You might change your mind when you hear the plans I have in store for...What is her name...Jess?" He replied, when I stiffened at her name, he smiled.
"So it's true! You know many vampires are talking about you two, I didn't believe them. Since I've been keeping tabs on you, all you've done is drink from, sleep with, then kill women. So when one said you'd grown attatched to a girl, why, i ripped his head off for lying! But now I see I was wrong."
"What do you want?"
"I want you to take this knife, walk into your kitchen, and stab yourself with it." He stated, pulling a knife out.
"Why?"
"It's punishment."
"What for?"
"For disobaying me." He stated coldly. I instantly knew exactly what he was taking about. I had to do as he said. There was no disobaying Malcom. Him making me stab myself is the most merciful thing he's done. He could do so much worse as a punishment. I nodded and took the knife from him.
"After that, you'll meet me in the wear house where you tried to kill that Lawlers" He noticed my shocked expression, "Please, I know everything you've been up to. Including how you attacked Jess and tried to suck her dry? That must've been after she tried to kill you for killing that girl...Anyway, meet me in the wear house. I've got a surprise for you." He said, then all of a sudden he was gone. I closed my eyes, hoping this was a dream, his surprises are never good. Sadly, it wasn't. And I went into the kitchen to do as he instructed.
"Hey, Jess?" Alex called. I debated wether I should answer. I decided not to be childish.
"What." I repleid.
"I...uhh...help."
I sighed and got up to see what the idiot had gotten himself into. The sight was worth getting up for. Alex had gotten himslelf stabbed with a knife. Not even kidding, there was a stake knife in his shtomach. His white shirt was stained with his blood and his face was contorted with pain.
"How the fuck did that happen?" I asked, rushing over to examine it.
"Would you believe me if I said I walked into it?" He asked.
"No." I replied. "Okay I have to pull this out. It'll probably hurt like a little bitch though."
"Eh it's happened before."
"Okay tough guy." I answered beore gripping the handle of the knife and slowly dragging it out. His knuckles tightened on the counter and he winced but he didn't make a sound. I pulled the tip of the knife out and he breathed in relief. I looked at the blade, it wasn't ours.
"Alex, what do I do with this? It's not ours." I asked the bloody boy.
"Oh believe me. It's okay. I know exactly who to return it to." He mumbled before taking it from my hand and rushing out the door.
I didn't see him again for two days.
