Don't Be Like Me

Today I'm asking myself,
'Is my knowledge enough to know my self worth?'
When I was a child
I am always called a princess
And I come to think in mind
That I'm worthy in this world, I'm one of a kind
Until one day I no longer reading stories of fairytales and stories of love affairs
And the books that once my comforter
Stuck on the corner and no longer matters

I am matching my capabilities
To the needs of the society
Forgotten the value of reading
Which suppose to be the real thing

Here's what I tell you,
Years ago reading is one of my pass time
But as time passes by
The technology we have came in the line

I am a victim of this modern and advanced technology
Guilty being part of this society
Please don't be like me!
Radio, television, computer, gaming consoles
Measures my productivity
Instead of learning new ideas to improve my vocabulary

Please don't be like me
Who waste my money just to see
The places where I wanted to be
Instead get your books now and graze up your knees
And sit on the branches high up in the trees
Enjoy your surroundings read most of the day
You're having that every moment
money cannot pay

Reading fills the gap of being a traveller
No doubt books are a faithful friend of a reader
So please don't be like me,
A victim of this modern day society
Instead value reading which is the key
Open up your eyes so you can see
to save everybody
Those mind are slowly eaten by this technology
