IVAN:
Its been a week since Nana and Callie left for Mexico and Christmas was just a day away.
We were opening our Christmas present over at Rufi's tonight. Maria was going over to the cute lady's tonight while Rufi and Ana-Blaire would come with me.
This is like my best Christmas ever.
The four of us sat under the Christmas tree like a family and laughed.
"Should we open our gifts together or take turns?" I asked
"Take turns" Maria grinned like a baby. Rufi had given me a heads-up earlier that Maria was a Christmas freak.
"Ana-Blaire" Ivan pointed for her to start.
Ana-Blaire unwrap Rufi's gift in a manner that made her mouth "why did I bother to wrap it"
"Mama!" She screamed holding up the barbie convertible car "Barbie!"
One would expect the girl to go hug her Mama but Ana-Blaire was in adventure mood so she moved on to my present. I held my breath as she unwrapped it.
She held up the 'leapfrog my own laptop' as everyone huued and ahhed .
"Thank you" she said running into my arms.
"Now that broke my heart "Rufi pouted.
Up next was Maria''s gift to her. Ana-Blaire gave Maria a don't-disappoint-me look. How a three year old would make three adults feel so defenseless was beyond me.
She opened the gift and a pair of pink cow girl shoes fell out with a panama "cow girl boots" she gained at me like I got it for her making me wish I did.
"to contribute to your cowgirl memories" Maria said .
She ran into my arms again and Maria gasped "Isn't that nice, I give her a gift and she runs into cowboy's arm"
Ana-Blaire and I shared a look and we giggled.
"perfect ending" Rufi said "Now they're laughing at us"

As we drove to Ivan's house Celine Dion's Christmas eve rang out from every speaker in the car.
"Now where is the show and mistletoe?" I grumbled
"can't do anything about the snow muñeca, but the mistletoe? We could find one"
I love the idea of kissing underneath the mistletoe .
