RUFI:
“Welcome to our midst Katherine Grace George” I greeted the pink bundle. After about thirty minutes at the hospital and ten minutes of labor my goddaughter decided to end our anticipation and came out.
I was walking with a smile on my face to the hospitals cafeteria to get lunch when Ivan called out. “Rufi!”
“Hi there, we have a new member in our family”
he clapped “yeepee! Can I see Katherine?”
“Of course, you came alone?”
“Nope, the whole community is in the waiting room, I just came to get ice-cream for Ana-Blaire”.
He closed the distance between us and rested his arms up on my lower back. “Thank you”
I looked up at him confused “what for?”
“For bringing me into this world”
He looked serious as I stared into his brilliant blue eyes.
“Which world Ivan?”“Umph!” he kissed my head “this world, your world ….. a world filled with love ….. Happiness …. Support…. A world where even if there’s a challenge …. A problem" he caressed my cheek "you can be sure of the love of those around you …. You know they’ve got your back” he looked at me with so much intensity I couldn’t blink or breathe
“Thank you Rufi, gracias” he smiled.Tears rolled down my cheek “Ivan” I breathed as I hugged him not bothering to fight the tears. “I love you”
“I love you so much” he held me to his heart. After a few seconds he pushed me away playfully. “Hey! Don’t go all cozy on me. I have a goddaughter to meet” he laughed.
I pouted “hmm”
“Don’t be jealous” he giggled
“Oh yeah? Go on, go ahead, I’ll just go get my self a new boyfriend” I teased.
“Ehn?” he laughed. “Alright, just make sure a lawyer and a doctor tags along.
I arched my brow.“Love you” he kissed me and left
“Tsk!” a lawyer and a doctor? How about I add an ambulance to the list.
A guy could get brutal.
