IVAN:
Alexandro Dallas Brown is dead.
I read the headline as I drove inconsolable Rufi and nonchalant Ana-Blaire to the church for his burial mass.CEO of Browns' bank, who passed away on the 23rd of August (last week Friday) after crashing into truck the day before is going to be laid to rest today.
His daughters Miss Rufina Brown and Mrs. Maria Williams are going to be facing the press for the first time today. These two have never made it into news before that isn’t surprising through because Mr. Alexandro Brown never made his private life accessible.
Mr. Steven Dallas Brown who ….Until when will they keep talking about Andro’s death?
I looked at Rufi through the rear view mirror as she wrapped her self like a wounded dog.
For four days after Andro died, Rufi was so numb she could not cry, the pain was too much for her to cry, those four days were the longest of my life.I had to force her to drink water at intervals since she refused to eat, she did not say any word for those four days. Her whole being was numb in the pain. When the pain lessened enough for her to cry she broke down and has not being able to stop since then, the only words she had spoken since then is “I shouldn’t have”
As far as I’m concerned Alexandro Dallas Brown killed him self. Rufi had nothing to do with it. She only did what she saw as right and if the result was tragedy the fault was Andro’s.
“I swear I was only trying to help” she sobbed from the back seat.
I let out a relieved breath. Second sentence in eight days, however I don’t like that statement.“You helped love” I tried to Convince her
“No, I killed him”
“You gave him an option Ruf, not kill him” he didn’t replied
When Rufi walked away at the hospital after she was asked to donate blood to Andro I followed her and made her realize she needed to help. If she didn’t she would feel guilty later on if Andro died. Crying she had said Andro would wish death that to have her blood run through his veins.
It’s not your choice to make was my reply. When Andro regained consciousness the doctors told him they had to give him blood because he lost so much. He was so worried that they might have given him a drunk’s blood or maybe a drug dealer’s or an addict’s. The doctors assured him that the donor was none of those.
He pleaded with them to let him see the donor.
The moment he saw Rufi he went into an hysteria, he got so furious they had to sedate him. When he woke up he was even more furious, due to his agitation he got an heart attack, he’s body was still weak from surgery and he could not hold on. That was how he killed himself.**************************************************
RUFI:
I know this was going to happen that’s why I did not want to donate the blood father needed. The only thing I achieved by doing that was to kill him. I could have called Bernice she’s an O+ just like him, that’s what I should have done to save his life instead of kill him. I killed my own father.
“Baby, go on” Ivan urged me towards the placed where father laid
.
“No”“Come on, he is your father, pay him this last respect” he said tracing circles on my arms.
“He hated me” because of that he died.
“It doesn’t matter, just do it” he kissed my head “or do you want to make the headline?”
