Rufi typed away at her desk oblivious of her environment when Abbi and Georgia walked in.

"Hello godmother!" Abbi said with a child voice.

"Hey goddaughter! How are you?" she waved at Georgia. She was a month and two weeks old already.

Abbi placed Georgia's pack on the table then walked over to hand her to Rufi. "Back to work so quick?"

"I'm not the one who gets married" she smiled inhaling Georgia's sweet smell. How she loved baby smell. She remembered using baby powder and oil until she turned thirteen.
The smell was heavenly.

She was still savoring the smell when her phone rang.
"I'm pregnant!" the child like squeal came so loud Rufi had to move the phone away from her ear.

"What?"

"I am pregnant sister, I'm going to become a mother!"

A ripple of happiness washed over her "you'll be a mom?"

"Yes, five weeks gone"

Rufi was dumbfounded, her brain empty, she couldn't find the right word to use, Callie was the best sister-in-law anyone could wish for, she was more like a sister, the best in the world.

"I-I'm so happy for you Cal." She choked on her tears. Happy tears.

This was perfect
Everything was perfect.
Rufi couldn't help but wonder at how intertwined her family was.

When thing were sad they all shared it now good news kept rolling in everyday.

If this wasn't perfection then what was?

This was supposed to be their girl's night out but Rufi felt stuffed like a doll. She had told Ivan and Ana-Blaire that she was tired and needed rest.

She was tired all right, but also choked up. Thursday night was the wrong night to feel that way.
"You're sure you don't want me to call the doctor?" Ivan asked worried. He'd never seen her this way.

"No I'm fine, I ate too much Chinese this afternoon that's ...." She raced out of bed and ran into the toilet as she began to throw up. After half of eternity passed she stopped, she'd empty her gut.

Ivan help her back to the bed and covered her with the sheet. She snuggled into his arms drawing warmth from him for her ice cold body.

"What does she mean ..." Bernice voice softened at the sight of the pale Rufi with shattering teeth having a death grip on her husband "Rufi are you ok?"

"Chinese" Ivan supplied.

"Hmm" Maria said not believing.

Abbi smiled a knowing smile "two minutes" and disappeared

"Come on girl" she said upon returning "let's find out if it's Chinese of Ivan"

"What?" Ivan said wide eyed as he let Rufi go.

"I bet it's you and not that innocent Chinese"

Bernice told him after sending Rufi into the bathroom, she came out a minute later looking timid.

Bernice cleared her throat.

"So?" Maria inquired.

"Chinese ..... or ..... Ivan?" Abbi pushed. Ivan sat still waiting for her answer. Why had that not crossed his mind?

The girls came and figured it out in seconds and he'd been here for hours without a clue?
She answered the question even before saying the word as she wrapped her arms protectively around her midriff.

"I'm pregnant" she said with tears in her eyes.

Rufi's belly grew so big it scared him to leave her side for a minute.
On the fifth day of May at about 10:00pm while they watched TV Anthony decided it was time.
